🦴Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme🦴

Last Friday we were proud to host the BOTP Proximal Humerus ORIF Workshop here at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.

With support from , our trainees took part in a fantastic day of hands-on learning, developing their skills in fixation techniques and gaining valuable practical experience in a supportive, expert-led environment.

The session was packed with learning opportunities - and it was great to see such enthusiasm and engagement from everyone involved. A big thank you to all who attended and contributed into making the day such a success - another step in supporting the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons!

🖐️ Wrist and Hand Study Day 🖐️

This week, we were delighted to host the MSK Academy ‘Wrist and Hand Study Day’ at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.

The day featured a full programme of learning delivered by a range of expert consultant speakers. Teaching was case based and highly interactive, alongside hands-on practical sessions including:

• Carpal tunnel & trigger digit injection & surface anatomy station
• Splinting/casting practical (wrist/thumb spica/ulnar gutter)
• Tendon repair station
• Medartis saw bone fracture workshop

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a fantastic day of learning, discussion and shared expertise, all focused on the management of wrist and hand conditions.

✨ Welcome to our new GP Trainees! ✨

Today we were delighted to host an induction for our latest cohort of GP Trainees and FY’s here at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.

The day started with an insightful talk packed with specialist knowledge from Spine Fellow, Wai Soon. Followed by an engaging HLS Training session to help everyone get off to the best possible start. We also had Dr Foysal Hussain come to speak with our Trainees about ‘Working Practices and Rotas’. It was great to see so much enthusiasm in the room — we can’t wait to work with you all over the coming months!

Here’s to a fantastic training journey ahead! 💙
