Your body reacts to tone faster than words
Yes. Tone, rhythm, and facial expression are processed as “safety cues” or “threat cues” This is why something can feel off even when the words sound fine. We just know!

If you're experiencing symptoms of a mental breakdown and your doctor has confirmed its nothing else then working with me will feel like a breath of fresh air because, for the first time, you have somebody sitting beside you who understands exactly what is happening inside your body and your mind.

No more trying to explain yourself.

No more wondering if you're imagining it.

No more feeling like nobody quite understands the strange collection of physical, emotional and mental symptoms that have slowly become your everyday reality.

I understand how frightening it can feel when your body no longer behaves the way it used to. When symptoms seem to come out of nowhere. When your confidence starts shrinking because you no longer trust yourself in the way you once did.

I understand how exhausting it is trying to hold everything together whilst your nervous system is screaming for attention.

This work is about sitting inside that experience with you.

Looking at everything that has contributed to your nervous system becoming overwhelmed, overloaded and fragile in the first place.

Looking at the patterns.

The experiences.

The stress.

The survival strategies.

The emotional burdens.

The things your body has been carrying for far too long.

Then, gently and safely, we begin calming the nervous system so the symptoms can start to settle.

As the nervous system finds more safety, many of the physical, emotional and mental symptoms begin to lose their grip.

This isn't about becoming somebody new.

It's about finding your way back to the person you were before life pulled you so far away from yourself.

And having somebody beside you who understands the journey every step of the way.

Below, I'm describing some of this physical symptoms. I experienced , and now I support women to eliminate them from their own bodies so that they can get back to themselves.

Our ancestors held ceremonies under the stars and we hold grudges. We've lost our way!

Attention starts to feel necessary when a person has gone a long time without being emotionally registered. When someone lives with an emotionally withdrawn partner, the absence of being noticed becomes a kind of background starvation. The body starts reacting strongly to any moment where someone actually sees you, responds to you, or engages with you. It’s about a long-term lack of emotional contact.

Here are the main reasons this shows up:

Emotional deprivation over time: when you’re not met at home, the hunger builds quietly, often over years.

Your nervous system seeking stimulation: attention gives a hit of aliveness when things have felt flat.

A resurfacing part of your identity: the part of you drawn to same s*x is waking up and wants contact.

Lack of mirroring: humans need to feel seen.

Carrying too much for too long: when you’re the one holding everything, you eventually want someone to notice and hold you.

This isn’t about wanting validation from strangers. It’s about wanting to feel like you exist in someone else’s awareness. Being emotionally starved at home can create all sorts of problems and inner termoil.

The older I get, the more I pay attention to the words that tumble out of my mouth without permission. Not the big declarations. The tiny throwaway comments. The "I can't cope." The "I'm useless with money." The "Nothing ever works out for me." We say them while making a cup of tea, driving to work, folding laundry, standing in supermarket queues. Then we wonder why we feel weighed down by things we never consciously chose to carry.

I think that's why words have always fascinated me. Every sentence is a tiny instruction. Every statement is a brushstroke on the picture we're painting of ourselves. Listen to how people introduce themselves. Some tell you who they are. Some tell you what happened to them. Some tell you what they fear. Some tell you what they believe they're capable of. The words may only last a few seconds, but the stories behind them can stay for decades.

The phrase "I am" is especially powerful because it sits right at the centre of identity. I am strong. I am unlucky. I am creative. I am anxious. I am resilient. I am forgotten. Whether those things are permanent truths or passing experiences, the mind has a habit of collecting evidence to support whatever follows those two little words. It's like giving your subconscious a treasure map and then being surprised when it starts digging.

Maybe that's why intention matters so much. Not because life is a magic wand where every wish instantly appears, but because words shape focus, and focus shapes action. The conversations we have with ourselves become the lens through which we view the world. So perhaps today is a good day to listen to your own voice for a moment. Not to judge it. Just to notice it. Because sometimes the most powerful thing we can change is the story we've been repeating without even realising we're the one telling it. ✨🌙💫💕 Suzanne xx

My ancestors crossed oceans by stars and I panic when Google Maps says “recalculating.” 😂

If your nervous system didn’t treat change like a threat, you would already be living a different life?
