Meet Kevin! 😊 One of our patients and honestly just a lovely guy, who is doing something incredible this September.

On 13th September, Kevin will be abseiling down the side of The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, all the way from the 17th floor, to raise money for London's Air Ambulance Charity. It's the charity that saved his life after his accident, and now he wants to help them keep saving others.

London's Air Ambulance gets advanced trauma teams to London's most seriously injured patients, fast. Every pound helps keep that helicopter flying and those response cars ready to go.

There's nothing quite like taking rehabilitation out of the clinic and into the real world.

Recently, our physio Sarah joined our lovely client Brendan at Charterhouse Golf Course to put the Ottobock Evanto foot through its paces while practising his golfing technique.

The Evanto foot provides a unique level of multi-axial flexibility, helping users adapt confidently to uneven terrain - making it an excellent option for activities like golf, where balance and stability are key.

Brendan found the session incredibly useful and enjoyed seeing how the Evanto performed on the course. While he was happy to trial Sarah's prosthetic advice, he very wisely decided not to take her golfing tips! ⛳️😄

It's always rewarding to see our clients returning to the activities they enjoy most, with the confidence to keep doing what they love.

Commonwealth Games week has been one to remember 🏅

Our clinicians have been supporting para athletes throughout Glasgow 2026, working with Opcare technicians and the University of Strathclyde 's workshop facilities.

Proactive Manchester have been supporting Aaron with preparation for his Route 66 bike ride, and since the clinic opened we have been making his training sockets as his volume reduces and also made his definitive socket that will carry him across Route 66, which starts this week!

He recently popped in to collect his final cycling leg from Ned, who has known Aaron since meeting at Headley Court and was his prosthetist in the NHS until moving to Proactive.

Aaron is attempting to become a 2 x World Record Holder this week whilst raising money for Team Forces, Wounded Warrior Project, Blesma, The Limbless Veterans and Rock 2 Recovery.

He also brought in his travel companion 'Ned' who will be going on the amazing journey with him 🐻‍❄️

This week at Manchester Proactive, Chris took delivery of his new 3D printed prosthetic device that was designed by Sioned and Simon from Crispin.

This is what Chris had to say

“Having had issues getting a prosthesis over the years I constantly had problems with balance/posture and discomfort with multiple prosthetics that weren’t fit for purpose! Having found ProActive I went for a consultation and met Sioned from the Sale Proactive, she was friendly and very knowledgeable about how to go about fitting the prosthetic to me!

Not long after the prosthetic was ready, and it fit perfectly and looked great! For how ever long since my amputation I have struggled to play sport go for long walks or do physical exercise, since I have had this new prosthetic I’ve been able to do all this and more, I’m aiming towards now completing Hyrox events, and playing Disability football thanks to Proactive and there team I can now start to work towards what I want to achieve”

Elsie Hughes races track, MTB, cyclo-cross and road, and sits on the British Cycling Para pathway 🚴

She was born without her left forearm.

Years ago, Asad was her Prosthetist on the NHS. After he moved on, Elsie struggled to find a cycling prosthesis that kept pace with her racing.

Last year she came to our Leeds clinic, where Asad is now part of the Proactive team. Working with Crispin, he designed and built Elsie a brand new, fully 3D printed cycling arm for her track bike.

Lightweight. Custom fit. Built for speed.

Huge thanks to the team at Crispin Orthotics for bringing the design to life.

One year ago, we opened the doors to our Cambridge clinic at Granta Park, and what a year it has been.

From welcoming our first patients within weeks of opening, to building a brilliant team and delivering the standard of care we’re proud to put our name to, Cambridge has hit the ground running.

Patient Crafted Care: The 3D-Printed Cycling Arm

The teams at Proactive Leeds and Crispin have worked together to design and create a custom 3D-printed cycling arm for a trans-humeral amputee living with a brachial plexus injury.

Designed by Simon Barnett in close collaboration with Proactive Prosthetist Asad Khan and the patient, this innovative prosthetic embodies true patient crafted care.

It combines advanced 3D printing technology with expert biomechanical engineering to deliver exceptional comfort, function, and confidence - empowering the patient to rediscover the freedom and thrill of cycling.

This project beautifully demonstrates the power of teamwork, expert craftsmanship, and deeply personalised innovation, putting the patient at the heart of every step to create life-changing possibilities.
