✨ What role did you work in before joining Visiting Angels?

I was working in a warehouse role or customer service, just to pay the bills each month.

✨ What is the best part about being a caregiver?

It is the most rewarding/meaningful role I have ever had the opportunity to work in alongside my studying.

✨ What does being an Angel mean to you?

Being an Angel means providing the most compassionate and empathetic care each day. Also, knowing I can make people laugh and put a smile on their faces truly makes me happy in this role..

✨ Meet Our Team: Hannah - Care Manger ✨

We asked our team three questions to find out more about the amazing people behind the care we provide. Today, we’re sharing Hannah’s story 💙

✨ What role did you work in before joining Visiting Angels?

I’ve worked in care for over 20 years, and before joining Visiting Angels I was a Registered Manager for another care provider. I’ve always enjoyed working with people and supporting them and making sure they get the care they deserve. In previous roles, that wasn’t always as easy as I would have liked, so I really appreciate being somewhere where I can actually make a difference.

✨ What is the best part about being a part of the Visiting Angels team?

I think the biggest thing for me is that the values here are very similar to my own. I really like that our caregivers are such an important part of what we do and that we can recognise and reward them for the work they do.
I also really like the people.

There’s a good sense of everyone pulling together and looking out for each other. As Care Manager, I feel very lucky to have a team that cares about both the clients and the caregivers. It’s very different from places I’ve worked before, and I genuinely enjoy coming to work, meeting new people and being able to help where I can.

✨ What does being an Angel mean to you?

For me, it’s quite simple really. It’s about treating people how you would want your own family to be treated. Being kind, having a bit of patience, listening and sometimes just doing that little bit extra when someone needs it.
It’s not always about doing something huge. Sometimes it’s just making someone’s day a little bit easier or making them feel that someone genuinely cares.

✨ What role did you work in before joining Visiting Angels?

My job before was bar work but it wasn’t very rewarding and having supported my two younger sisters who are living with disabilities, I wanted to work in a role that’s equally rewarding as my time spent with my siblings

✨ What is the best part about being a caregiver?

I would say the best part about being a caregiver is the pride it brings to me , it makes me feel happy knowing I’ve been able to help someone or even just sit and talk to someone who needs that support

🪽 What does being an Angel mean to you?

Being an Angel means a lot to me because we are relied on and to have that trust is something so special with loved ones , Being an angel is one of the best things I’ve ever done the support is incredible.

We asked our Angels three questions to find out more about the amazing people behind the care we provide. Today, we’re sharing Abbie’s story 💙

✨ What role did you work in before joining Visiting Angels?

Before the becoming an angel I worked in care homes mainly. I also cared for family members. I cared for my Nan and for my grandma who was 105. I have always wanted to be a caregiver as making the difference to someone's day is what it is all about. My aim when I enter houses is to be the cerer I always wanted for both my Nan and grandma.

✨ What is the best part about being a caregiver?

The best thing about being a caregiver is the genuine connections you build with those you care for. To know you brighten someone's day or make it a little easier and your presence bringing someone comfort and a smile is a feeling that you cannot compare to. Knowing this is all done whilst allowing someone to maintain their dignity from the comfort of their own home, keeping their independence is the best part of being a caregiver. Pulling up to someone’s house and seeing their smile for you makes my day as much as it probably does them!

🪽 What does being an Angel mean to you?

Being an angel means making a difference. It means being compassionate and treating everyone how you would want your family members to be treated when receiving care. It means going that extra bit further for the clients whether that's a bag of chips to make their day or just sitting laughing and listening.

✨ ✨ Before joining the Angels I worked in the Logistics sector as a National Internal Sales Supervisor

✨ The absolute best part of being a caregiver is seeing genuine smiles light up my clients' faces. There is truly no better feeling than heading home at the end of a shift knowing I’ve made someone’s day a bit brighter and easier and knowing they are already looking forward to our next visit together.

✨To me, being an Angel means stepping into every visit with a deep well of compassion, empathy, and authentic care, not just for our clients, but for their families as well. It’s about going far beyond a routine checklist to forge real, meaningful connections, ensuring that every person we care for feels truly seen, safe, and valued. It’s about being a comforting presence they can look forward to, and giving their loved ones absolute peace of mind

✨ Meet Our Angel: Denise ✨

We asked our Angels three questions to find out more about the amazing people behind the care we provide. Today, we’re sharing Denise’s story 💙

Before joining Visiting Angels, I spent many years living abroad, working as a Guest Relations Manager in hotels. I eventually returned to the UK to be closer to my grandchildren, and that’s when my journey working in care began.

I first worked for another care provider, but it wasn’t the experience I had hoped for. We were expected to visit clients without really knowing them, there was no travel time between visits, and very little continuity of care. It was disheartening because I knew people deserved so much better.

Then I found Visiting Angels, and everything changed.

The best part about being an Angel is the relationships I build with my clients and their families. We have the privilege of making a real difference every single day. Sometimes it’s the smallest gestures that mean the most—making a loved one a cup of tea, asking how they’re feeling today, or simply taking the time to listen. Those moments create trust, comfort, and genuine connection.

Being an Angel means the world to me. It’s difficult to put into words the sense of fulfilment that comes from helping others every day. I’m also incredibly proud to be part of such an amazing team, where everyone genuinely cares and goes above and beyond to support both our clients and each other. 💙

💫 I used to work for another care company before the angels .

I decided to come to you through a friend of mine who works for you and recommend the angels .

I find yourselves an amazing and caring team who support everyone so much on even the littlest of things ,I really enjoy my work and the clients I see - making a difference with them each and every day .

I came into the care industry from hairdressing to make a difference to peoples lives; even a smile is amazing.

To help pay back the care we received when I lost both my parents , and to .make a difference in people's lives .

All the angels and office staff are amazing and wonderful people .. love Helen x

✨ Meet the Team – Jade, Owner & Registered Manager ✨

People often ask me why I chose to work in care, but for me it was never really a choice.

Family has always been at the centre of everything I do. I grew up surrounded by incredible women who dedicated their lives to caring for others.

My own mother nursed my grandmother at end of life, my other grandmother was a nurse who volunteered in our community, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law are incredible care leaders.

Watching their compassion, kindness and selflessness shaped the person and leader I am today.

When I founded Visiting Angels West Leicestershire, my dream wasn't simply to build a care company.

I wanted to create a place where caregivers feel like family, where they are genuinely valued, supported and celebrated, because I truly believe that when we look after our team, they can provide the very best care to our clients.

That vision has grown into something I'm incredibly proud of.

This year we were rated Outstanding in all five areas by CQC – an achievement that very few providers receive. It is a testament to every single member of our team. They are the ones building relationships, showing compassion, going the extra mile and making a difference to people's lives every single day.

The truth is, I'm the least important person in this business. My role isn't to be at the centre of it – it's to support the people who support our incredible Angels, so they in turn can provide exceptional care to our wonderful clients.

If I can create an environment where our team feel valued, listened to and empowered, then everything else follows.

Family remains my number one value, and I'm so grateful that our Visiting Angels family continues to grow with people who share those same values every single day. 💙
