Recent studies support several overlapping traits between autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
In 2013, it was finally recognised that autism and ADHD could co-exist.

Lifeworks North Staffs have been delighted to work with medical students from Keele University over the past few weeks.

We collaborate with Keele University medical students by providing direct experience with people on the spectrum and training future physicians on understanding neurodivergent conditions and their patients' associated needs. Keele University

On Monday, we took an exciting step forward in our journey as a charity — we officially became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

We’re also delighted to welcome Jenny Alcock as our newest Trustee, bringing even more passion and experience to our Board.

As part of this transition, we have formally changed our name from Lifeworks Staffordshire to Lifeworks North Staffordshire, reflecting the community we proudly serve.

Our new charity number is 1217300.

This week is Carers Week - a chance to say a big thank you to all the amazing carers out there.

Here at Lifeworks North Staffs, we run regular groups per month in the community for carers who need advice, a chat with people who understand, or just need to offload their thoughts or worries.

It's a good chance to remind people about our Carers Groups available. If you need any further info, please let us know :)

Happy Stoke‑on‑Trent Day to everyone across our city and the wider North Staffordshire region!

We’re proud to play our part in supporting local people through the services we provide. And we think Stoke-on-Trent is a pretty ace city to be providing that help to.

It’s the perfect day for some “did you knows” about what we do:

Did you know… we support more than 1,000 clients every year across Stoke‑on‑Trent and North Staffordshire

Did you know… our incredible team of 27 volunteers give their time to help local people live more independently

Did you know… we support people aged 14+ in North Staffordshire without a learning disability* with Autism, ADHD, Tourette’s syndrome and mostly with secondary mental ill health, as well as their carers and professionals, to find a sustainable lifestyle.

Did you know… we’ve been part of the North Staffordshire community for 20 years - this year is our 20th anniversary!

Did you know… our services help people build confidence, develop skills, and stay connected to their community.

A reminder about our Tai Chi session taking place this Friday!

Our Tai Chi sessions are now taking place at Newcastle Family Hub, Knutton (ST5 6DH).

Join us for gentle movement, relaxation, and a chance to unwind — perfect for all abilities.

Sessions run Fridays in June, 1.30pm–2.30pm, and are open only to Lifeworks North Staffs clients.
