Not my usual content but I felt compelled to talk about it (lots of throat chakra healing going on!)…
I could talk for hours on this subject but today I just wanted to share the observation that narcissism (particularly malignant narcissism) almost always follows a trajectory of control / ab*se, as if from a text book.
I saw a documentary last night about a woman who was un-alived by her ex-partner whilst they still lived together. The story starts with jealousy, anger, loss of his control, he tracks her car, checks her phone, smashes the house up and eventually the worst happens.
The investigation reveals a 999 call made 4 months prior and the bodycam footage shows a house in ruin with a man sobbing on the sofa and a women terrified in her bedroom.
Narcissistic control escalates. The signs are always there (although difficult to see from the inside) financial control, emotional blackmail, threats, indirect vi*lence, emotional rollercoasters and then physical vi*lence.
The work of Dr. Ramani Durvasula was such a pivotal part of my healing, it helped me understand what had happened and potentially why.
Healing from this chapter of my life is the reason why I wanted to help others heal. I don’t see myself as a victim, it’s just part of my story, a part that became a catalyst.
