Rehab builds the foundations to then progress and push on, improve strength, technique and move confidently.
I’ve been through this and in those days when you’re exercising with no weights, doing that funny gymball exercises, lifting 10% of your “normal” and getting frustrated just remember stable, strong foundations are needed for progression!!
Personally, hitting hip thrusts at 65kg is huge, no hip pain, no SIJ pain, great hip stability, good technique and control.
Is it below what I could do pre-hip problem?
Yes it is but that doesn’t take away the progress that’s be made to get here pain free and no flare ups after.
Before was I lifting heavier pain free no and my hip would hurt afterwards sometimes days. Even lowering the weights it would still hurt.
But I will be back at those heavier weights soon and I will be pain free because I’ve built those strong foundations.
