Rehab builds the foundations to then progress and push on, improve strength, technique and move confidently.
I’ve been through this and in those days when you’re exercising with no weights, doing that funny gymball exercises, lifting 10% of your “normal” and getting frustrated just remember stable, strong foundations are needed for progression!!

Personally, hitting hip thrusts at 65kg is huge, no hip pain, no SIJ pain, great hip stability, good technique and control.
Is it below what I could do pre-hip problem?
Yes it is but that doesn’t take away the progress that’s be made to get here pain free and no flare ups after.
Before was I lifting heavier pain free no and my hip would hurt afterwards sometimes days. Even lowering the weights it would still hurt.
But I will be back at those heavier weights soon and I will be pain free because I’ve built those strong foundations.

Need help with your rehab, don’t know where to start, not progressing, have an injury, need of support?

Even with sporty children I’m not usually needed in my sports therapy role* but today a little strapping was needed.
A bit of a different one we have an aggravated extensor digitorum longus.
Mechanism: Caught his back foot bowling yesterday leading to hypertension of the ankle in plantar-flexion.
Awareness on the top of the foot and anterior ankle on pushing up on toes and pushing knee over toes.
This strapping is just to give a little additional support to the tendons of the extensor digitorum longus on the top of the foot and anterior ankle and to limit end ranges.

Due to the activity he’s doing now rigid tape wouldn’t be appropriate, ankle movement was required.

*I’ve usually deep dived into their sports, looked at injury risk, common injuries and then if needed suggested some exercises to help to try and avoid them!
