🌿 Mental Health Monday: What Does Good Mental Health Look Like?🌿
When we think about mental health, it's easy to assume it means feeling happy all the time. In reality, good mental health is much more than that.
Mental wellbeing is about being able to cope with life's ups and downs, build positive relationships, recognise and manage emotions, and feel supported when things become difficult.
For children and young people, positive mental health can look different from day to day. Some days they may feel confident and motivated, while on other days they may feel overwhelmed, anxious or frustrated. Experiencing a range of emotions is a normal part of growing up.
As parents and carers, one of the most valuable things we can do is create a safe environment where children feel comfortable talking about their feelings without fear of judgement. Simple daily conversations, quality time together, and helping children identify and name their emotions can all support positive mental wellbeing.
Remember, mental health is just as important as physical health. Looking after our emotional wellbeing is something we all need to practise throughout our lives.
