A beautiful skywatching moment awaits on June 13 as the Moon passes near the famous Pleiades star cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters.

Look toward the western sky after sunset and enjoy one of the most photogenic celestial pairings of the month. The bright Moon and sparkling blue stars of the Pleiades will create a stunning scene that has fascinated skywatchers for centuries.

⭐Celebrate the rise of Puaka and the Matariki star cluster with a range of fun events happening in the central city this July. ⭐️

Light installations and new artworks will brighten up the city, focused around he Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū, along Worcester Boulevard to Oxford Terrace and at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre.

Tātai Whetū, Tātai Tangata – a gathering of stars and people – takes place over four days and nights from Wednesday 8 July – Saturday 11 July.
