The lifelong benefit of an in-depth understanding of your yoga practice is invaluable in ways you may not anticipate.

Yoga is more than exercise; it’s a lifestyle.

Create a more balanced approach to living, a more steady mind so you can respond instead of react, and more resilient body physically, mentally and emotionally.

Leave a comment if your teacher training was transformative.

Yogas chitta vritti nirodhah.

Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind.

It's not a stretch. Not a pose. It's a stillness.

It's what happens when your mind stops replaying yesterday and stops rehearsing tomorrow and finally lands in the present, here.

Once we move out of summer's momentum and into the quieter pull of fall, this is the practice: getting still. Getting grounded. Coming back to the one moment you're actually in.

On the mat, we train this by dropping out of the head and into the body. Breath by breath, shape by shape, until the mind has nowhere to wander.

Once we find that on the mat, it's easier to find it off the mat too: in traffic, waiting in line, in a hard conversation, noticing our own reactions before they run the show.

That's Yoga. The mat is just where we rehearse it.

If you want to enter fall grounded, join us for a mini retreat rooted in stillness:

Long, energizing flows that work to let go of what summer will leave behind
Restorative practices the allow time for the body to rebalance
Sutras for seasonal transition, used the way we actually use them in practice, not as theory
The rest of the time is unstructured on purpose. Time outside in the Maine woods. Meals shared at one table, made with food grown nearby. Quiet mornings before the first practice even starts.

This one's for those of you who've been at this a while. The ones for whom yoga isn't a workout, it's a way of living. Let's get still together. 🍂

Yoga Lab: Building Your Practice w/ Fran
Starts Again July 9 through July 30
Thursdays at 545, $100

This is a welcoming space to learn, move, and breathe. This class offers a steady, accessible approach to yoga, with time to work with familiar poses, develop awareness, and move with intention.

Clear guidance supports learning, while a slower pace allows space to refine and better understand your practice.

Rather than moving quickly from one thing to the next, we take time to stay, notice, and build understanding in the body.

Whether you’re new to yoga or returning after time away, you’ll be supported in building a practice that feels steady, comfortable, and your own.

MIDCOAST, MAINE.
2026: Sept. 28 - Oct. 1 with Kristin

Reset after summer’s busyness and before the holiday rush. This mini-retreat will help you ground your energy and set intentions for autumn.

Expect long, energizing flows to release what no longer serves you, followed by restorative poses to restore balance.

We’ll explore yoga philosophy and highlight yoga sutras for seasonal transition.

Time in nature, shared yoga, and locally grown food will help you come home to yourself.

This retreat is for anyone who understands and appreciates the deeper benefits of yoga and wants to transition into fall with ease and intention using asana and philosophy to get there.
