👐 Handling Skills for SCI 👐
Most SCI patients are first taught to roll over using MOMENTUM...
But that might might be the best strategy for those with:
👉 spinal precautions limiting torque and compression
👉 spinal hardware that shouldn't be "twisted"
🔥 interest in improving core strength 🙌

🎥 This clips is from my signature 3-day course where I teach handling skills that leverage fascial lines and EMPOWER the individual to own the movement vs. fly through it.
PRO-TIPS for assisted rolling over:
💥Cross the ankles
💥Place your hand through the "donut hole."
💥USE LEVERAGE: lean your body over the leg to initiate the roll for the hips - this passively tractions the body to 'jump-start' the roll in the trunk & shoulders
💥SCI athlete should aim for a LOW sweep of the arm in order to tap into the Spiral fascial line - use a big exhale and fascial tensioning vs. momentum.
BONUS: the helper can traction the spiral line to give an even bigger jump start to the roll.
