Another one of our Vision Therapy Success Stories as reported by his mother:
Vision Therapy has radically changed R.'s life! We are so thankful for finding Snider Therapy!
Before finding Snider, R. suffered with the inability to read, write, spell, making friends was hard. He was clumsy, had severe anxiety and stress directly related to school. Sports were difficult. We spent years of feeling like we were beating our heads against the wall. Making no progress forward in school or life period. The Lord brought a lady to us with a message. She told us about Snider Therapy. Skeptical at first because we had been through so much! Tutors, therapy, medicines, Irlen lenses, and nothing seemed to help improve. Our 1st meeting at Snider Therapy I will never forget the words out of his mouth when he went over R.’s test results. He told me all of these things that were wrong, (just like all the other doctors we had seen) but he told me the GOOD NEWS was… They could FIX IT! No one had ever told us that! I knew the Lord’s hand was at work and our prayers had been answered to heal R.!
Since R. has been through therapy, he is a completely different child! He can read, write where you can tell what it is, no more anxiety/stress, he doesn’t trip over things in the floor, his grades are the best they have ever been, he has made lasting friendships.
We noticed changes immediately after starting Sensory Learning. R. noticed signs that have always been there. He asked me since when is Office Depot Office De-pot, he never knew there was a T on the end, we never realize that we only had heard “office depot” never saw or read the sign. This opened up a whole new world for him. The best was when he looked at me and said “I’m just so happy!” We never realized just how much he was dealing with!
We are so so so thankful for Snider Therapy! All of the staff especially our sweet therapist Mrs. Lisa! We thank the Lord every day for all those wonderful people, and leading us to find them! THE LORD IS SO GOOD! We love y’all! We will miss seeing you! Thank you for helping heal R., you are all a gift from the Lord!

Another one of our Sensory Learning Success Stories as reported by his mother:
"Isaiah 55:11 'So will My Word be which goes out of My mouth: It will not return to Me void, without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.'
My son C. hit his head on a metal pole on Sept. 22, 2024. He had mild symptoms of a concussion but no official diagnosis. Fast forward to Nov. 13, 2024, my son suddenly could not finish sentences. He could not get words out when reading. All of the conventional tests came back "normal" (MRI, EEG, CT scan) but more neurological symptoms arose; freeze episodes, emotional outbursts, poor sleep, fearful to climb hills, tremors, roaming eyes, blurry vision, losing balance, anxious about little things, and super sensitive to sounds. During his time here (at Snider Therapy), he would be fatigued after treatments and sometimes have freezing episodes.
We are excited to say that our son is back to his normal self! He no longer has those freezing episodes, and his speech is back to normal. He is still improving in his hearing, but we have noticed a huge difference. We thank God for leading us to this wonderful place."

Another one of our Vision Therapy Success Stories as reported by her mother:
In younger years, K. had a hard time learning to read and ride a bike. Then, in school, she had a hard time focusing, copying words from the board, learning times tables, and was slow at finishing schoolwork. With Vision Therapy and Light Therapy, she can now focus properly at school. She no longer has piles of homework. We are very thankful! Thank you, Dr. Snider and staff!

Sharing a post from the future Dr. Amy Mabile:
"I’ve held onto this news long enough! Thank you God, for being with me through every up and down of getting me here today.
I will be attending the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry, joining the Class of 2030.
The paper desk plaque you see me holding was made my freshman year of college. It has sat on every dorm room and apartment desk during my undergrad years, reminding me to keep my eye on the goal, on the calling God has put on my life. This picture was taken right before I interviewed with RSO, how fitting.
The high-level story is that I would not be who I am today without the vision therapy I received as a child. Most people have never even heard of vision therapy, and that is part of the problem. It is a small field within optometry, but it has the power to completely change lives. We traveled all the way to Birmingham, AL, and Columbus, MS, for this therapy at the time.
This journey was not an easy one, and it is deeply personal to me. That is why I have such a heart for this field. Growing up with dyslexia, ADHD, and visual processing challenges, I knew what it felt like to struggle, to sit in classrooms feeling behind because I could not read my assignments or spell the words I needed, and to be labeled in ways that did not reflect my potential.

If you know my heart, you know it is full of advocating and being a voice for others, sometimes for people who do not even realize they need one yet. I want to listen to people’s stories, to understand, and to meet them where they are, because every story is different, and every person matters. But I also know the impact of people who step in to help.
I knew what vision therapy was like from the patient’s perspective, but at Belle Vue Specialty Eye Care I had the opportunity to see it behind the scenes as a tech. I saw firsthand how life changing it can be, not just in what it does, but in how important it is for communities to actually have access to it. Something as simple as being able to drive 20 minutes instead of hours can make all the difference.
In grade school, I would leave the classroom to go take my tests with my special education teacher (yeah, I know, crazy, right? I was in the special education program, so maybe I just debunked a stereotype for you). I always knew those teachers as my “helpers.” What a meaningful name, because the impact those teachers have on lives is truly remarkable when done well. It takes humility, empathy, and a lot of patience.
Isn’t that what the Kingdom of God calls us to be for one another — to be helpers?
Whether I end up doing vision therapy or God has other plans for my future in optometry, I ask for your prayers as I move to San Antonio and continue to follow where He is calling me."

Just received this Success Story from one of our Sensory Learning Program patients detailing the many changes she has seen in her daughter:
• Vision Restored – (Due to resolved stress and anxiety) visual acuity improved from 20/400 to 20/20.
• Happier - Our family has seen more joy as she is spending more time with us and is rarely removing herself from the group. Her "spark" is back; she is smiling, enjoying games, and making jokes.
• She used to get very overwhelmed with time but now moves forward getting ready and prepares without anxiety.
• Her relationship with her dad has improved. His personality is loud and humorous, and she used to feel torn between loving him and feeling overwhelmed by his voice or wanting to do activities but finding it too hard - especially after a full day of school.
• I withdrew her from school. I'm allowing her to learn and re-learn the beauty of learning in a peaceful environment. She is thriving and growing much-needed bonds with family.
We have all cried happy tears over our girl being so happy and balanced. Thank you, God, for aligning us here!!!

Then the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior who is Christ the Lord.”

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace goodwill toward me!”

Merry Christmas!

12/21/2025

Did you know that the Twelve Days of Christmas is the period from December 25 through January 6? This came about as the Western Europe church celebrated December 25 (Christmas Day) as the day of Jesus birth and the Eastern Europe church celebrated January 6 (Epiphany) as the day of the coming of the Magi and Jesus baptism. Since the two groups could not come together as to which was the more important day, these 12 days were called ‘holy days’ which has since morphed into the word ‘holidays’!

"Imagine a child given a worksheet. He puts his head on the desk to do his work viewing through one eye as he can see the worksheet with one eye, not two. He gets punished repeatedly for this and humiliated in the classroom of 30 children. So he tries to behave. He sits up straight but cannot see the work. So he does not do the work. He looks around at all the other kids who are doing the work and begins to feel like something is wrong with him. He is only 7 and has no idea that his eyes are not normal, as he has gone to the eye doctor since he was 3 and was told he had 20/20 vision. He gets punished again for not doing his work and is seemingly distracted. The teacher recommends ADHD medication. Many parents follow the recommendation, checklists are completed, "evaluations" done by pediatricians, psychologists, etc...insurance covers this. Medication is prescribed. However, problems continue until...a keen young doctor of optometry tests a bit further and then recommends a comprehensive evaluation. Low and behold, the kid has moderate convergence insufficiency and has double vision out 35cm. Add to this an inability to accommodate when looking back and forth from board to desk. Add moderate tracking issues that impact the fluency of his reading. This debate is unjust to the children in need of an adequate assessment of visual function." - Tiffani Lawton, RN Editorial Director at Special-Ism.
