Twenty months later, and thereā€™s a part of this nobody warned me about.

I still feel numb behind my ears. Right now, as Iā€™m recording this, it feels like Iā€™m wearing a chin strap. The inside of my ears itch. Thereā€™s a tightness I donā€™t have great words for. None of it is painful, and none of it has made me regret anything ā€” but I genuinely had no idea it would still be part of my daily life almost two years out.

Hereā€™s the other half of the truth: I love my results. Iā€™ll be 61 soon. I had a full deep plane lift, an endoscopic brow lift, SMAS work in my lips and nasolabial folds, and CO2 laser around my eyes and mouth, all before I turned 60. My scars are hidden so well you canā€™t find them. Iā€™d absolutely do it again.

I also hope I never have to.

And if you remember, my recovery was rough ā€” I got sick partway through, and it was a hard stretch. Healing isnā€™t the same for any two people, and I can only tell you what mine has actually looked like.
