We had a great turnout for our CPR/First Aid Training in collaboration with North Dakota State Council on Developmental Disabilities and North Dakota Safety Council on Saturday! It was fantastic to see so many people eager to learn and enhance their skills in providing emergency care. The training session was engaging, informative, and interactive, covering a wide range of topics from cardiac arrest to wound care.

Thank you to Patriot Nutrition for keeping us fueled with teas throughout the training!

Did you know it is recommended that all children with Down syndrome to have a sleep study done by the age of 4? Research suggests 80% or more will experience obstructive sleep apnea in their lifetime compared to 1-4% of the rest of the population.

Happy Friday! Can you believe we are halfway through ?

There are three different types of Down syndrome, with Translocation accounting for 3-4% of all cases. Translocation is the only type of Down syndrome known to have a hereditary component, and is where an extra part or a whole extra chromosome 21 attaches (translocates) to another chromosome.

We had a great turnout for our Meet-and-Greet with Kayla McKeon and Genevieve Thompson on Tuesday night! Thank you to all who came!

Kayla also shared the keynote speech at the North Dakota State Council on Developmental Disabilities Legislative Training yesterday. She shared about her experiences as a lobbyist, how to be an advocate, and shared about the legislative priorities that National Down Syndrome Society focuses on.
