Unpopular opinion: gymnastics isn’t an “extra.” It IS essential strength training. 👀
We spend a lot of time talking about strength in terms of what we can lift or how we can move the barbell.
But strength is also being able to control and move your own body.
Gymnastics challenges us to hang, pull, brace, coordinate, stabilize and understand where our body is in space. It develops relative strength, body awareness, coordination, mobility and control — qualities that matter far beyond getting your first pull-up or touching your toes to the bar.
And more real talk…
You don’t have to be a gymnast or a performance athlete to NEED gymnastics.
The need for strength, coordination, body awareness and control doesn’t go away as we age. If anything, continuing to train those qualities helps us keep doing more of what we love.
And THAT is exactly why we loved seeing so many of you show up for our Toes-to-Bar + Pull-Up Skill Seminar! 🙌
We slowed things down, worked positions, identified strength gaps, practiced drills and gave everyone opportunities to build skills at their own level.
And we’re not done. 👏
📅 GYMNASTICS OPEN GYM — 9/19 @ 10AM
We’ll bring back the stations, drills, skill practice + gymnastics-specific strength and conditioning stations so you can keep building on what you learned — or jump in and start wherever you are.
More details to come. 💚
Strength isn’t only about what you can lift or move.
It’s also about how well you can move YOU.
TRAIN FOR LIFE.
