Still waiting on that next message.

Ahhhh dumb and dumber, little bff’s, rarely see one without the other. Definitely don’t love that.

I’m not gonna pretend I don’t know alcohol is inflammatory. I do.

I’ve gone months without drinking, felt great, sworn I was done… and then summer rolls around and I just wanna sit on a patio with my friends and feel like a normal human.

And then suddenly the food rules go out the window too. A couple bevvies + pizza? Burger? Sure, why not.

Do I always feel great afterward? Absolutely not. Do I know I’m making choices my body may not love? Yep.

I’m still figuring out what balance looks like for me. Maybe someday I’ll be 100% alcohol-free. Maybe I won’t. I honestly don’t know.

But I’m curious… does anyone else with an autoimmune disease struggle with this too? It’s so easy to look on social media and feel like everyone else has it figured out but you. I’m here to let you know that we don’t. Nobody does. Everyone is trying to find some form of balance in their life.

Oh FFS. At this point I’m not really sure what is causing what.

Who else is here with me?!

I mean the reality is a little pain every day is most of us autoimmuner‘s new norm.

A s**t ton of pain is what it is in the beginning but after years of research and work, both mentally and physically, you do get to a place where it’s not so intense. Most autoimmuner’s can verify that for the newbies.

an autoimmune disease definitely runs on a spectrum and only you know your body best. I know my feet p**p out around 5 miles and I can push a mile or two past that but that’s it. You will learn as you go and while the learning isn’t always fun it’s needed in order for us to be able to still enjoy life!

if you’re not even remotely close to being able to do something like this, just keep in mind and know that it does get better. In the beginning of my journey, there was absolutely no chance in hell a hike like this would happen. And look at me now! I have dreams and goals that I’ll be able to do much further distance hiking in my future, but for now this will do ❤️

Do you ever push yourself past your limits and do you think it’s worth it?

You’re not a burden for having a body that requires extra care.

And always remember… those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.

You have no idea what I just wrote down? Well I had no idea my body was going to do that. Whoopsie.

Just kidding. I wish I could do that but the people pleaser in me would neeevvvvvveeeerrrr.

If you have an autoimmune disease you know exactly how much energy it takes to document everything. The timeline, the symptoms, the medications, the reactions, the appointments, the diagnoses. Writing it out is not a small thing.

And then they walk in, glance at the chart, and say “so what brings you in today” — and something in you just dies a little.

We deserve doctors who actually read the room. And the paperwork.

Anyone in here ever laced into their doctor?

Nobody talks about how hard it is to be a good friend when your body is actively working against you. You’re exhausted, you’re hurting, you’re barely holding it together — and then someone you love needs you, and you show up anyway. Every time.

The world might see someone who cancels plans. What it doesn’t see is the version of you that cries and answers the text anyway.

You give from a tank that’s already empty, and somehow you still choose your people. That’s not weakness. That’s everything.
