There are endless choices when it comes to Reiki training. Four hour classes. Eight hour classes. Two day classes. Year long intensives. Online. In person. Self paced. Gendai. Jikiden. Komyo. Usui Shiki Ryoho. Psychic Reiki. Angelic. Shamanic. I think you get the point.

And because Reiki is not regulated in any way (for better or worse) teachers can literally put ANYTHING in their classes that they choose. So if ever there was a time to ask LOTS of questions, this is it.

Reach out to a potential teacher and ask these questions. Or better yet, craft your own list. This will help you learn more about them AND determine whether or not this is truly the right class for you.

And if you’re looking for a Reiki class focused on mental health (that also doesn’t compromise any of the classic information and techniques), you might consider joining me this Thursday at CWC for a unique Reiki II training. CECs available for those who qualify. I’d love to answer your questions and help you figure out if this is the best class for you. ✨

I’m so grateful I have Reiki for all of life’s ups and downs. I’m even more grateful that my children do. To see how this practice is woven into the fabric of my family, brings me pure joy. And man if seven year olds aren’t just the wisest. šŸ¦‰

If you want to learn Reiki for yourself and your family, join me this Saturday for Reiki I. Comment or DM REIKI and I’ll send you the details.

I can’t tell you how many clients have apologized to me before a session for how ā€œbadā€ their energy is. Others express genuine concern for what their energy will do to me. I always explain to them that my job is not to take on their energy. My job is to be a clear channel for divinely guided life force energy. Reiki will take care of the rest.

And yet, if you’re a practitioner, you’ve likely had a session (or many) that left you feeling pretty lousy. There are lots of reasons that can happen. So let’s talk about some!

1. You’re working too damn hard. You’re depleting yourself by trying to direct the energy and control the outcome. This can be solved by simply doing less and allowing more.

2. You’re a highly sensitive person or clairsentient. (Most people who are drawn to Reiki are!) You feel a lot anyway. Reiki only enhances that gift. So while you work with someone, you might feel their pain or emotions as if they were your own. Important distinction here though! That does not mean you are taking it from them. That is not what is creating the healing. Reiki is doing the healing. You are receiving intuitive information about the client through temporary bodily experiences.

3. You work with humans who’ve been through a lot, and feeling some heaviness after a session comes with the territory. As someone who specializes in Reiki for trauma, I witness a lot of pain and suffering. I hear stories that break my heart daily. Sometimes I have to let myself grieve the immense amount of pain and heart ache that exists in this world.

Whatever the reason for post-session negative feelings, we have to explore what supports us in navigating it when unavoidable, preventing it when we can, and staying curious about the cause. Because if we don’t, and this becomes the norm, then it’s only a matter of time before we burn out.

That’s why we discuss all of this and more from the very beginning in my Reiki trainings. So you can set yourself up for success from the jump.

Learning Reiki is the doorway. To. So. Much. More.

I often ask people what drew them to the Reiki class I’m teaching. Many people answer with something along the lines of ā€œI don’t even know. I just felt drawn to it. I knew I had to be here.ā€

If you’ve been feeling called to start or continue your Reiki learning journey, this might be another sign that the time is now.

Join me for an upcoming class. DM ā€˜Reiki’ for more information.

Can’t wait to share this incredible practice with you. ✨

So I know July is still a few days away, but these events are too good not to share!

Summer schedules are so full and there are so many great activities to choose between. AND sometimes summer is so busy and so alive, that we also need to plan time to slow down, cool down, and connect inward. And what’s better than doing something dreamy on a steamy summer evening? Not much.

Some of these events are almost sold out, so now is the time to grab your spot. Visit the website to sign up or learn more.

We can’t wait to be with you. 🫶

Always so grateful for this reminder. And grateful that I get to spend my days sitting in this energy that is so deeply nourishing.

I often think about how much magic is baked into the floors here at Resonance.

These floors have held so many tired bodies. Touched so many bare feet. These floors have been covered in herbs, tea, wax from ceremonial candles, cacao, and oils. These floors have held space for deep healing and connection. These floors have heard the wisdom of so many different teachers, traditions, and practices. They’ve silently supported folks as they learned to listen to their bodies and come home to themselves.

I’m so grateful for this space and the energy that it holds. And even more grateful for all the amazing people who have taught here and helped to fill this space with such goodness.

If you are interested in bringing your gifts to Resonance, send us a message. We have individual and group space available for rent. And some seriously special floors to support all the good work that you do. 🫶

These are the questions I’ve been exploring for myself and in different groups I’ve worked with this week.

This midpoint of the year feels like the perfect time to pause and reflect on life from December to now, and to plant seeds for the next six months. And we had the opportunity to do just that at our solstice event here last night. Thanks to everyone who came out! šŸŒž

There’s been a lot of fast-moving, intense energies since the winter solstice. Many waves of challenge, emotion, confusion, and stress. And this solstice feels like a tipping point. A turning point. Different energy is arriving. I’m excited to see what the second half of the year will bring.

As we move toward this longest day, what would it be like to take in just a little more light? Whether that be the sun, pleasure, sweetness, hope, sacred support, or something else entirely. Can we make more time in our day for it? More space in our minds for it? More capacity in the body for it?

Sending big and bright solstice blessings to you all.
