The Peninsula Center serves the population of disabled persons on the Peninsula and Middle Peninsula of Virginia, and strives to provide them with independent living skills and services to help with every day life. We provide a variety of different services, including housing, counseling, advocacy, skill training, transitioning, information & referral and more. We value and cherish every person th

at walks through our door and are determined to help them to the best of our ability. We work with different organizations within our community, including housing managers, to help you get an apartment or house that is best suited to your specific needs.

📢 PCIL Newsletter Spotlight – June 2026 📢

The Peninsula Center for Independent Living (PCIL) has been hard at work making a difference in our community!

This month, Executive Director Dyteya Lewis highlights several exciting accomplishments, including:
✅ Teaching Pre-ETS (Pre-Employment Transition Services) classes to students at Kecoughtan High School alongside staff members.
✅ Providing Independent Living Skills (ILS) training focused on Aging Gracefully.
✅ Receiving a $1,500 grant from the City of Hampton to host an inclusive community picnic this August.
✅ Continuing PCIL’s commitment to supporting individuals in achieving their goals and living independently.
