Volunteers are an essential part of the Hospice of Mercy program and play a key role in patient care. Pet therapy companions like Kathy along with sweet R***r and Ryder, visit our patients wherever they reside. Visits from registered pet therapy dogs bring gentle cuddles, companionship and moments of happiness.

There are many ways to care for a family saying goodbye to their loved one. One way is to keep our kitchen at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy stocked with homemade meals. Recently, a family member shared this note with us.

“Thank you so much for the care you gave our loved one. Not only was our loved one cared for well but so was the family. We were well fed. Thank you!”
