Spooky season is the perfect time to clear out what’s been haunting your health plans. 👻

We’re ghosting the stuff that keeps us guessing: judging our arteries by a lipid panel alone, saving all our skeleton appreciation for porch decorations (hi bone health) and the habits we know that can creep up on you and increase your risk of heart disease.

Our screenings are nothing to be afraid of! We check things like your carotid arteries, bone density, and key health numbers in one visit, with no referral or insurance needed. You leave with a baseline you can bring to your healthcare providers.

So go ahead and ghost the excuses. Just don’t ghost the appointment.

Grape jelly and your heart have more in common than you think. 🫙🫀

AFib(atrial fibrillation) is an irregular heart rhythm that can let blood pool in the heart's upper chambers. When blood isn't moving the way it should, it can form clots. And a clot that travels to the brain is one of the leading causes of stroke.

The tricky part? Many people don't know they have AFib. That's why screening matters, knowing your rhythm means knowing your risk.

Your barista might know more about your cardiovascular health than you'd think. ☕

Okay, not really. Please don't ask them for medical advice. But they do know your order, and that daily habit tells a surprising little story. From black drip to pumpkin spice, the research on coffee is mostly good news. Some orders just come with a fun fact or two. Swipe to find yours.

The fine print: coffee science is always evolving (and sometimes contradicts itself), and how coffee affects you depends on a lot of personal factors. This post is for fun and general education, not medical advice. A screening is the best way to see where you stand, so bring your results to your doctor.

We asked real Life Life Screening customers who they screen for, and the answers said it all. Family. Kids. The future. Even future grand babies . Because heart health isn’t only about numbers it’s about the people counting on us and the moments we want to be there for.
So this ❤️ day start small. Check in on someone you love. Ask your immediate family about its history. Maybe swap the elevator for stairs. And yes, of course get the screening. Every little thing, is a way of saying I love you.

❤️ Happy World Heart Day!
If we asked you right now what your blood pressure number was, would you know?

Uncontrolled high blood pressure is the single biggest driver of stroke risk. And by age 40, more than half of American adults already have high blood pressure, most don't know.

There's a reason it's called the silent killer. You can't feel it happening. The only way to know your numbers is to check them.

And that's really the whole point of every essential we've covered this week. Get screened, tested and stay ahead of your health. The more you know, the more you can take action on and get ahead early. Sometimes, it's just having the peace of mind, that hey, everything is a-ok too.

Always work with your doctor on blood pressure specifically. ❤️ #

150 minutes a week sounds like a lot. Then you realize it's just a 20-minute walk!

Adults should aim for 150 minutes of moderate activity weekly, walking, gardening, dancing, anything that gets you moving. Less than 1 in 4 American adults actually hits that.

Per an AHA scientific statement (Circulation, 2023), closing the gap can be as simple as a daily 20-minute walk. It counts. Even if it's split up. Even if it's 'just' walking.

Consistent movement is one of the biggest levers you have for cardiovascular health. No gym required (but we do also encourage hitting the weights too 💪). ❤️

Getting a lipid panel is part of the story. But now we have more to go off.

The 2026 ACC/AHA cholesterol guidelines, the first major update in 8 years, added new markers to the standard-of-care conversation:

Lp(a) a mostly genetic cholesterol particle diet and exercise can't touch. Every adult is now recommended to have it checked at least once in their lifetime (a new Class 1 recommendation, the strongest there is). We now offer this test!

ApoB a direct count of the cholesterol particles actually in your blood. Often a sharper read on risk than LDL alone. Worth asking your doctor about (but stay tuned for more from us on this).

LDL still matters. Your lipid panel is still worth doing. It's just officially part of a bigger picture now just not the whole one.

The scale isn't always the whole story.

The AHA has said it since 2021: where your body stores fat matters as much as how much you weigh. Recent research (JACC, August 2026, 259,000+ people across 15 cohorts) backed it up hard.

People with a 'normal' BMI but higher waist circumference had 15–50% greater cardiovascular risk for most outcomes. Abdominal (visceral) fat carries risk independently of BMI.

Translation: a scale can't tell you what's happening around your organs. A screening can help you understand what's going on inside. We test for a variety of panels, most only include a simple finger poke of blood. Link in bio for more info on what we test for and where we'll be at in your neighborhood.

Getting in 8 hours. is not the whole story anymore. 😴

The AHA released a scientific statement earlier this year (Circulation, April 2025): sleep health isn't just about duration. Quality, regularity, and timing all independently affect cardiovascular risk.

Translation: hitting 8 hours matters! But so does when you go to bed, whether it's the same time each night, and whether you're actually staying asleep once you get there.

Meet us back here tomorrow for the next essential habit.

Always talk with your doctor if you're consistently struggling to sleep, it can flag something worth checking. ❤️

You already know about sodium. There’s an update:
The AHA’s September 2025 science advisory named ultra-processed foods (UPFs) as a major cardiometabolic risk. One BMJ review of 45 meta-analyses (nearly 10 million people) found just ONE extra daily serving of UPFs was linked to a 50% higher risk of cardiovascular-related death.
For context: Americans get about 55% of their daily calories from UPFs (CDC).
So, the conversation just got bigger. Our chronic health risk profile checks multiple bio markers that can give you an idea of where you stand and what changes you might want to consider making.
