KISSING SPINE: The diagnosis was NOT the end of the story 💖🐴
When Shylo was diagnosed with Kissing Spine, I’ll be honest… it was scary. There are so many stories out there that it would have been easy to think that this meant the end of our riding journey.
But it didn’t.
Instead it became the beginning of a new journey—one that required patience, education, hard work, and a whole lot of support.
I dove into the research and learned as much as I could: online evidence-based rehabilitation course, equinebodyworkonline groundwork over poles, utilized the equiband system, worked with a saddle fitter, and listened to my vets, Dr Laurel Northern Lakes Equine Practice and Dr Vacek at Kendall Road Equine Hospital
This experience taught me that a diagnosis doesn’t necessarily mean giving up. Sometimes it means slowing down, learning more, and giving your horse the time and tools he needs to succeed.
I’m incredibly grateful for everyone that supported us throughout this process. So many people to thank. 🙏
Most of all I’m proud of SHYLO. 💞
He has worked hard and trusted me through this process.
