Last Friday, the Parkinson’s Foundation, Florida Chapter brought the South Florida Parkinson’s community together for the Florida Chapter Parkinson’s Symposium — a day filled with learning, connection, collaboration, and hope. 💙

We were honored to welcome more than 250 attendees, along with 8 sponsors and 5 community partners, who helped make this event possible and meaningful for our community.

The Symposium is more than an educational event. It’s an opportunity for people living with Parkinson’s, care partners, families, and professionals to connect with experts, discover valuable resources, share experiences, and learn from one another.

Together, we are building a stronger, more connected Parkinson’s community and advancing our mission to make life better for people with Parkinson’s disease.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, sponsored the event, partnered with us, and helped make the Florida Chapter Parkinson’s Symposium such a special day. Your support makes a difference. 💙

Moving Day Miami is about two months away! 🚶👟

The Parkinson's Foundation, Florida Chapter wants to share another story that highlights what this community can mean to someone impacted by Parkinson’s.

After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s at 52, Ellen found strength through movement and a community she now calls her “new village.” Through that connection, she found support, friendship, and a reminder that no one has to navigate Parkinson’s alone.

We encourage you to take a moment to read Ellen’s story and see firsthand the impact that movement and community can have.

September is Su***de Prevention Month, a cause especially relevant to the Parkinson’s community. Depression is a symptom of Parkinson’s disease that can lead to suicidal thoughts, yet this PD symptom is often undiagnosed. It’s important to remember that depression IS treatable.

We’re here for you with information and resources to help: Parkinson.org/living-with-parkinsons/emotional-mental-health/depression-mood/su***de

We discuss su***de & Parkinson's and provide resources for you or a loved one seeking help.

Today is National Grief Awareness Day. 🩵 We meet grief regularly throughout our lives as we lose or say goodbye to what we hold dear, be it the people we loved, the things and routines in our life that were important to us, or the plans or hopes we dreamed one day would come true.

However you carry your grief, you are not alone. Parkinson.org/blog/awareness/grief
