NRC Community - Let’s help Cadi and her lacrosse team go to Nationals!💪💪💪 WASA

For more details, see below from the WASA Eagles:

Milwaukee Eagles Wheelchair Lacrosse is a strong program in the Wisconsin Adaptive Sports Association and  was hatched in  2014 by three disabled veterans. Each year the team grew and now is actively competing around the country.  We are the national champions for season 2023, 2024 and 2025 and are looking to hold our title for a fourth consecutive year.  We are asking you to join our team as we fundraise to send all our athletes to various tournaments leading into the Championship Tournament in August 2026 at Buffalo, NY
At WASA Eagles, we know that change starts with people like you. Every act of kindness, every dollar, and every moment of your time brings us closer to achieving our goal.

This summer, we will be sharing stories of our wonderful patients who have benefitted from our community support fund. We are hoping to grow our community support fund to improve access to physical therapy in the outpatient neuro setting.

Mark joined the NRC in March 2025 , six months after sustaining a cervical spinal cord injury. When he came to us, he was still in a power wheelchair and needed assistance for most of his daily living activities. He was seeing good improvements, however, and was a good candidate for intensive therapy to promote increased strength and function.

Because his injury made him unable to work, Mark has accessed the community support fund to help him continue his therapy at an intensive level. In occupational therapy, he has been working to restore hand function so he can get back to driving his truck and playing his guitar. In physical therapy, he has been making progress on walking with the assistance of a walker or cane and improving functions necessary for him to perform his job mowing law.

Happy Monday Everyone!

This past Saturday, one of our physical therapists led the movement demonstration at Moving Day Milwaukee!☀️🌻💛 It was so wonderful to move as a community and support this amazing foundation. This year’s Moving Day has raised almost $100,000 which will go towards improving care and advancing PD research. Go team!
