Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001.

A quarter century later, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama pauses to honor the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost and remember our nation's resilience.

We hold deep gratitude for the first responders, military, and medical teams who ran toward danger to save others. We will never forget.

Proposed Medicare changes could mean longer wait times and reduced access for the patients who can least afford them. But the proposed CMS rule is not final, and you still have time to make an impact.

The Medical Association of the State of Alabama urges all physicians to submit comments to CMS before the September 14 deadline.

How to make your comment count:

▪️ Share your clinical reality. Describe what you see in the exam room, how this proposal affects your patients, and what it means for your daily practice operations.
▪️ Use specific Alabama examples. Local, real-world examples are much harder for CMS to set aside, and one well-supported comment from an Alabama doctor carries far more weight than a thousand identical template letters.
▪️ Back it up with evidence. CMS staff look for sound reasoning, data, and expert analysis. Ground your points in published evidence or personal clinical experience wherever possible.

When Alabama doctors comment in numbers, CMS sees where the profession stands. Submit your official comments before September 14: https://bit.ly/3SR9LoL
