The latest issue of Haven dispatch is posted.

In this issue, I talk more about the Healing Lexicon, how it started and where it's going. Why I'm stuck on a word and what's next.

It also links to my latest blogs, I tried to do one week on different themes. Touching on research and hypnosis, how hypnosis shows up in mind body patterns like IBS, anxiety, insomnia. Seasonal things like back to school, anxiety, grief, anniversaries, January habits and goals, emptiness transitions, and then my favorite- the deeper work. Working on self-respect, recognition of the self, forgiveness, anger, trust. And then wellness trends. As much as I dislike trends, sometimes, I'm moved enough to have an opinion and say something, or bring some clarity.

In this issue, I'm especially excited because it's the first time I'm officially announcing the office that's been quietly being put together piece by piece over the last few weeks. The color palette, furniture pieces, picking out a rug! A frame for the beautiful painting, the theme... Port of Resilience!! All of it has been curated and to create a space that is not only stunning and bold, but inviting, embracing, memorable and comforting. Everything a Haven should be.

So I'm excited because I don't know what's next, but I know I've made a nice place for it And I want to welcome returning clients and new clients alike to this space and to the deeper work.

The New Chapter Issue of The Haven Dispatch is here.

This September marks 10 years of Hypnosis Haven — AND the opening of a dedicated new office.

This issue brings together some of what has been growing alongside that change: new writing on back-to-school anxiety, nervous-system regulation, palliative care, the evolving science of hypnosis, and a first look at The Healing Lexicon: Volume Five — Trust.

There’s also a little more of the story behind why I created the Lexicon in the first place, and a special 10th Anniversary three-session series for $575.

A lot is changing.

The heart of the work is still the same.

Helping people work with what has been difficult to change through effort alone.

You can read the new issue here:

For a long time, hypnosis had a credibility problem.

Part of that came from its history. Stage performances, dramatic portrayals, and misconceptions about control made it very easy to dismiss hypnosis as entertainment rather than something worth studying seriously.

But science changed the conversation.

Researchers gained better ways to observe attention, brain activity, physiological response, pain perception, and the measurable changes that can occur during hypnosis.

That does not mean hypnosis is magic. It means we no longer have to choose between “mysterious” and “imaginary.”

In this article, I look at why scientists were once skeptical of hypnosis—and what finally began to change their minds.

For decades, hypnosis was overshadowed by stage performances, misconceptions, and a lack of tools capable of measuring what was happening in the brain and body. Modern research has changed that. Ten years of Hypnosis Haven—and a beautiful new chapter is beginning.

Thank you to every client, parent, professional, colleague, and friend who has trusted or referred to Hypnosis Haven during these first ten years. I am deeply grateful—and so excited for what this new space will make possible.

I’m delighted to announce that Hypnosis Haven will be opening a new office in Litchfield County.

For ten years, I have had the privilege of helping people work with the deeper patterns behind anxiety, habits, sleep difficulties, emotional overwhelm, confidence, stroke recovery, weight management, and other responses that conscious effort alone has not changed.

To celebrate this milestone, I’m offering a limited 10th Anniversary Package:

• One comprehensive establishment session
• Two 60-minute follow-up sessions
• A personalized reinforcement recording

The complete three-session series is $575 and is available to new, current and returning clients.

Only ten packages are available and must be reserved by September 30—or before all ten have been claimed.

If you have been considering hypnosis for yourself or your child, you are welcome to contact me with questions. A confidential conversation can help us determine whether this work may be an appropriate fit.

Visit Hypnosis-Haven.com or send me a private message with the word ANNIVERSARY for this limited time rate.

Anxiety, Hypnosis & Why You Can’t Think Your Way Out of It

So many people try to think their way out of anxiety.

They analyze.
They explain.
They rationalize.
They understand exactly why they feel the way they feel.

And still, the body reacts.

That is because anxiety is not only a thought problem.

It is often a nervous system pattern, a subconscious association, a body response, and an old protective strategy happening beneath the surface.

This conversation explores anxiety, hypnosis, and why healing often has to reach deeper than logic alone.

“It’s Not You, It’s the Pixels”: What You Need to Know About PIED

This is one of those topics people often carry quietly.

With shame.
With confusion.
With the fear that something is wrong with them.

But sometimes the issue is not a lack of desire, love, masculinity, or connection.

Sometimes the nervous system has been trained by repetition, novelty, secrecy, pressure, and pixels.

This blog looks at PIED through the lens of the subconscious mind, the nervous system, and the patterns that can quietly shape desire and response.

At the heart of the issue, it isn't just about arousal, it's connection and releasing the shame, guilt or empty feelings associated with the problem.

Can Hypnotherapy Really Help Regulate Your Nervous System?

When the nervous system is overloaded, it is not always enough to tell yourself to calm down.

Because the body does not always respond to logic.

Sometimes it needs repetition.
Safety.
Imagery.
A different internal rhythm.
A way to experience calm instead of just thinking about it.

That is one of the reasons hypnotherapy can be so helpful.

It does not argue with the nervous system.
It works with it.

This blog explores how hypnosis may support nervous system regulation, stress recovery, and the deeper mind-body connection.

A stroke survivor’s brain is already working incredibly hard to heal, reorganize, and create new pathways.

Va**ng—especially ni****ne va**ng—may work against that recovery by narrowing blood vessels, raising blood pressure and heart rate, and exposing the body to chemicals that may contribute to inflammation.

For someone recovering from a stroke, protecting circulation and reducing the risk of another stroke are especially important.

Va**ng may also become a way of coping with:

• Anxiety
• Frustration
• Boredom
• Grief
• A sudden loss of independence or control

The goal is not shame. The goal is to understand what relief the person is seeking—and help them find safer ways to achieve it.

Stroke recovery is not always a straight line, but every supportive choice matters.

Please let your neurologist, rehabilitation physician, or healthcare provider know if you are va**ng ni****ne, THC, cannabis, or any other substance. Individual risks may vary depending on the type of stroke, medications, and overall health.

Your brain is worth protecting.

If you or someone you love is recovering from a stroke and struggling with va**ng, Hypnosis Haven is here to help.

The Future of Longevity

Longevity is not only about living longer.

It is about how we live inside the years we are given.

With clarity.
With strength.
With steadiness.
With the ability to return to ourselves.

The body matters.
The mind matters.
The nervous system matters.
The way we carry stress matters.

This blog explores longevity through a wider lens—not only healthspan, habits, and the physical body, but the subconscious patterns that shape how we respond to pressure, change, aging, and healing.

The future of wellness is not about living to 120 for the sake of a number. It’s about living every decade with dignity, strength, clarity, and joy. Imagine meeting your great-grandchildren not from a hospital bed, but from the garden, sharing stories over a meal. This is the promise of healthspan...

Waking Inside the Pattern

There is a moment in healing when you do not necessarily feel “fixed.”

You simply notice.

You notice the pattern starting.
You notice the old reaction rising.
You notice the familiar pull toward fear, shutdown, overthinking, or self-protection.

And that noticing matters.

Because the moment you can see the pattern, you are no longer completely inside it.

This blog is about that strange and powerful space where awareness begins—the place where the old response is still present, but something new is waking up.
