Today, we came together to celebrate Juneteenth with a powerful program that honored freedom, resilience, culture, and the enduring contributions of the Black community.
The celebration featured inspiring musical performances, prayers, a presentation on the history and significance of Juneteenth, and an energetic dance performance by the Harambee Dance Co. that captivated the audience and highlighted the richness of African and African American culture.
We were especially honored to welcome Senator Kevin Parker, whose leadership helped make Juneteenth an official New York State holiday. Thank you, Senator Parker, for joining us as we celebrated this important day and reflected on the progress that has been made while recognizing the work that still lies ahead.
A special thank you to MetroPlusHealth for their support of this celebration and their continued partnership in helping us engage and uplift the communities we serve.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this celebration so meaningful. Together, we honor the past, celebrate the present, and continue to build a more equitable future for all.
