People love a simple answer about deadlifts:

Round your back and you’ll get hurt.
Or: your back position doesn’t matter.

Neither gives you much to work with.

What matters is whether you can control the position and repeat it when the load gets heavy. A slight, consistent curve may look different from someone else’s; your anatomy and training history play a part. The problem starts when the weight changes your movement because it’s beyond your control.

Find a deadlift position you can own, then keep it consistent as you build strength.

Not every exercise needs a warning label.

Online fitness advice can make a normal workout feel like a minefield. One post says rows are bad for your back. Another says overhead presses will wreck your shoulders. Neither asks what you’re training for or what your body can handle today.

That’s the problem with blanket rules: they create fear without giving you a better plan.

An exercise isn’t automatically good or bad. Context decides. At PhysioRX, we’d rather help you understand why a movement fits your plan than scare you away from it.

Standard rehab is built to remove symptoms. Once the pain is gone the file closes, and the barbell becomes somebody else's problem.

We think that's backwards. Load isn't the reward waiting at the end of rehab, it's the treatment itself. Which is why the space looks like a gym instead of a clinic, and why your PT is also the person coaching your set.

The assessment finds the weak link the injury exposed. Then we load that link, scaled to whatever you can handle that day, until it stops being the weakest thing about you. That's how people walk out with lifts they didn't have before they got hurt.

Straight leg raises, squats, and hamstring curls don’t deserve equal time in ACL rehab.

Each has a role but the priority changes as you progress.

Straight leg raises can help early on. Squats build a foundation. Hamstring curls matter for posterior-chain strength. But if your goal is to return to running, cutting, jumping, and sport with confidence, your quads still have to lead the conversation.

The best ACL rehab isn’t a copy-and-paste exercise list. It is a progressive plan that rebuilds knee capacity, strength, control, and confidence for the demands you actually want to return to.

“Five months later, I feel as fit as ever.”

Greg's calf and achilles pain was keeping him from going on the runs he wanted.

He hit us up at PhysioRX for an assessment, and we were able to identify the issue and gave him a plan that got him back on the track within days.

Five months later he’s not only pain-free and feeling like himself again, but he's also got an improved strength training and running plan keeping him healthy.

Sometimes the injury isn’t dramatic. It just quietly takes away the thing you love doing.

But we can fix that.

You don’t have to be perfect to take care of your body.

Healthy habits are not about executing every routine perfectly. They are about coming back to the things that make you feel and move better again and again.

The goal is not perfection. It is progress, consistency, and a plan that works in real life.

At PhysioRX, we help you build strength around your actual schedule, not an impossible standard.

If your RDL keeps hitting your knees, you’re probably squatting it, but not hinging it.

The fix is simple:

Break at the hips first. Send them back, keep your shins mostly vertical, and let the bar travel close to your legs.

That smoother bar path helps you actually train the hamstrings instead of turning your Romanian deadlift into a squat.

Save this for your next leg day.

Women should not be scared away from lifting heavy. Progressive resistance training can support strength, bone health, confidence, and long-term resilience.

If training leaves you constantly exhausted, injured, or experiencing changes to your cycle, don’t automatically blame the barbell. Look at the full picture: total training load, recovery, nutrition, and programming and seek guidance from a qualified professional.

Good training, enough food, and consistent strength work will take you much further in the long run.
