Nikki Thomas always knew she wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps. Her dad, a military nurse, came home with stories that captivated her. When she’d hurt herself playing outside, he inventively patched her up with the kind of calm, skilled care that made a lasting impression. “I wanted to be just like him,” she says. So, she did. 💞
Fifteen years later, Nikki brings that same heart to her role as a medical assistant at our Nine Mile clinic, where she closely works with Megan Gupta, MD. A Pensacola native who earned her degree from Virginia College, Nikki moved away for a decade before returning home in 2024. Nearly a year at Ochsner Novant Health 65 Plus – Nine Mile, Nikki already knows what makes this patient population special. “They all have wisdom,” she says.
Nikki’s favorite part of her workday is providing 🥼lab services to patients, like drawing blood, and the in-between moments with her coworkers. “We are a fun, lovely, lively group who love what we do for our patients and the community,” she says. “We want to see you live your best life.”
And for the younger generation, she offers simple advice:➡️ “Treat people how you want to be treated, or how you want your own family members to be treated. Life is short. You never know what someone is going through.”
We’re glad you came back home, Nikki. Our patients are lucky to have you! Explore how you or a loved one can become a patient: https://ow.ly/Z3qV50ZeZbr
