Last week, AccessMatters' staff headed to Harrisburg to participate in two rallies at the state Capitol. On September 28, we participated in a press conference and rally for SB 1112: Contraceptive Access For All Act, a companion bill to HB1140. The next day, we participated in a press conference and rally in support of the No Time for a Pause package of legislation to support people during perimenopause and menopause. We are grateful for the legislative champions in Harrisburg for introducing these important bills!

Yesterday, Audrey Ann Ross, Senior Manager of Communications & Policy, participated in a press conference hosted by U.S. Senator Patty Murray in Washington D.C. Audrey spoke about the importance of access to affordable sexual and reproductive health care, including contraceptive access and the impacts of the June termination of the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program grant. September is Sexual Health Month! Sexual health is an important part of your overall health and wellness. To protect your sexual health, you can:
- Test for STIs once a year, or whenever you have a new sexual partner
- Attend regular visits with a health care provider
- Get vaccines that can prevent STIs, like for Hepatitis A, B, HPV, and mpox
- Make sure you are getting any recommended exams, like prostate exams or gynecological exams
