Our hospital affiliation and focus on prevention make us stand out in a fitness industry crowded with gyms that cannot offer our level of care. It is our goal and mission to provide our members the proper environment, education, motivation, and professional instruction to achieve their fit

ness goals. Since 2003, Princeton Fitness & Wellness has offered the best equipment and programming in the area to help ensure the most positive outcomes for our members. Our 40,000 square foot facility offers a large selection of strength and cardio equipment, over 150 group fitness classes per week including Les Millsโ„ข and Zumbaโ„ข, an Aquatic Center with 3 pools, FitKids programming, Physical Therapy and so much more. If our facility is impressive, then our staff is unparalleled. Whether youโ€™re looking to lose weight, gain strength, rehabilitate from an injury, or advance your athletic skills, our highly qualified staff will create a results-based program just for you. We begin with a Health Risk Assessment with a Nurse, followed by a Functional Movement Screening with a Personal Trainer. We then monitor each memberโ€™s progress with a complimentary re-evaluation with a Personal Trainer every 60 days, and re-evaluation with our Nurse every 90 days. We are confident that prevention is the future of health care, and we look forward to helping members of all ages and fitness levels achieve optimum health. We invite you to experience Princeton Fitness & Wellness for yourself!

Congratulations to our Group Fitness Instructor of the Month, Julia! ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐ŸŽ“ Education & Certifications: I am currently entering my third year at the University of Pittsburgh.

๐Ÿ’ช Instructor Specialties: Classic Mat Pilates and Pop Pilates

๐Ÿšฒ Fun Fact: "Iโ€™ve had the opportunity to take several in-person workout classes at Peloton Studios!"

๐Ÿ’ฌ Why did you go into Group Fitness Instruction? "I originally got into Group Fitness because, during my first year of college, I started taking cycling classes with a friend every week. Every time I left a class, I felt clearer-headed, grounded, and more organized. Freshman year was a stressful transition for me, but those classes became something I genuinely looked forward to. They not only helped me manage stress but also made me feel more connected to my community and campus. I truly feel that Group Fitness changed my entire college experience. I originally asked the manager about becoming a cycling instructor, but she told me that they were fully staffed for cycling and were looking for a Pilates instructor. Coincidentally, that same year, I started doing a lot of Pilates through the Peloton app and completely fell in love with it. I found myself practicing almost every day and really enjoying how Pilates made me feel both physically and mentally. When the opportunity to teach Pilates came up, it felt like the perfect fit and a natural way to share something that had already become such an important part of my own life."

You can catch Julia substituting for our classes this month!

Meet Swim Coach, Philip! ๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐ŸŽ“ Education & Certifications: Undergraduate of Nutritional Science and Food Supply from Rutgers University, WSI certification, lifeguard, and CPR/AED certified.

๐Ÿ’ช Specialties: "With over 12 years of coaching and instructional experience, I have worked with swimmers of all ages and skill levels, including Masters Swim, Baby & Me programs, high school teams, and competitive club swimming. I specialize in helping swimmers build strong technique, confidence, and a love for the sport. My favorite stroke to teach is butterfly, and I enjoy helping swimmers master its unique combination of power, timing, and efficiency."

๐Ÿ’ก Fun Fact: "As a self-taught swimmer, I have developed a unique perspective on technique, learning, and athlete development. My expertise has led to invitations to work alongside two Team USA Olympic Head Coaches and collegiate coaches within their elite swim programs.

I was also featured in a Business Insider article highlighting the muscular benefits of swimming. The article garnered more than 20 million views and was featured on the front page of Yahoo News in 2023, helping raise awareness of the sport's physical and performance benefits."

๐Ÿ’ฌ Why did you go into Aquatics instruction? "For me, swimming is absolute freedom and the ultimate workout. A majority of my understanding of the human body comes from swimming and the omnidirectional resistance it entails. Swimming started as a personal project to get a lifeguarding job the summer of my junior year of high school. Even though I started as a lifeguard, I decided the best way to keep my residential pool safe and stress-free was to simply teach guests to swim when I saw they were struggling.

I wanted to see the heights I could reach despite being self-taught and ended up swimming for Scarlet and the Masters Swim Team in college, where I placed in all my mid-distance and backstroke events. I would later work under Team USA Olympic Head Coach Chuck Warner and his swim school- The Little Dolphin Swim Academy, as a coach for Rutgers Prep High School, and as a coach for the Club Arete Elite Swim Club with Colorado Mesa Head Coach Mickey Wender throughout the past few years. Coaching for the Princeton Barracudas is my latest step in my career, and it has been one of the best coaching experiences Iโ€™ve had. There are great names who back my ability to coach, and thanks to them, I have had Olympic qualifiers, D2-D1 swimmers, and record holders in their respective programs come out from under my wing. I hope to coach for a university program soon and, hopefully, open my own swim school."
