At Image Reborn Foundation, the impact of a retreat extends far beyond a single weekend.

When a woman attends a retreat, she finds more than education and wellness activities—she finds connection, understanding, and a community of women who truly "get it."

Many retreat participants arrive feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what lies ahead. They leave with new friendships, renewed confidence, and the reminder that they are not alone in their breast cancer journey.

One retreat participant shared: "I came to the retreat not knowing anyone. I left with lifelong friends and a renewed sense of hope. For the first time since my diagnosis, I felt understood."

Because of the generosity of our supporters, these life-changing experiences are provided at no cost to participants.

This past weekend, Image Reborn partnered with the National Ability Center for a four-day, three-night Adventure Retreat that was filled with connection, courage, healing, and joy.

While the cancer journey is an adventure no one would ever choose, this retreat offered survivors the opportunity to choose challenge - to opt into experiences that stretched them, empowered them, and reminded them of their strength. Through paddling, camping, hiking, fishing, and trying new things, participants faced fears and uncertainties on their own terms, proving to themselves that their bodies are beautiful, resilient, and capable.

The retreat began with a night at the National Ability Center campus, where guests climbed, paddled at Jordanelle Reservoir, played pickleball, and began building the connections that would carry them through the days ahead. The next morning, the group loaded into a shuttle bound for Flaming Gorge, where they paddled canoes to a remote campsite and spent two unforgettable nights immersed in nature.

The gentle lapping of water, the joyful sounds of camp, and the rhythmic chorus of cicadas offered a natural sound bath. Nature truly provided the special and safe container for connection and healing.

These experiences remind us that while we can't choose every challenge life presents, we can choose how we meet them, and sometimes, choosing the hard thing can be profoundly healing.

A special thank you to our incredible Image Reborn facilitators, Amanda and Natalie, whose compassion, presence, and leadership helped create such a meaningful experience. We are also deeply grateful to our partners at the National Ability Center for their dedication, expertise, and care in guiding our participants safely through every adventure.

Fresh air, meaningful connection, movement, healing, and time in nature. ✨

This past weekend at our Active Renewal Retreat in Huntsville, we gathered for hiking, swimming, spa services, chef-prepared meals, a powerful grief circle, and moments of renewal surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors.
