Your breakfast is basically a hormone signal. 🍳
That sugary cereal or bagel? It spikes your blood sugar, then crashes it a few hours later — which is why you’re starving, foggy, and reaching for coffee #2 by 10am.
A breakfast built on protein, healthy fats & fiber does the opposite: it keeps your blood sugar steady, which means steady energy, steady mood, and less of that mid-morning crash-and-crave cycle. It even sets you up for better sleep that night (yes, really — blood sugar swings mess with cortisol, which messes with sleep).
This isn’t about “clean eating” or restriction. It’s about giving your body what it needs to actually function well.
Three go-to combos:
🥣 Nancy's Probiotic Foods full-fat yogurt + walnuts, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds & 1/2 cup blackberries
🍳 2-3 fried eggs + Applegate 🌭🥓🍗🍔 chicken sausage, arugula, 1/2 avocado, olive oil & a squeeze of lemon
🥘 Leftover roasted veggies & meat (sweet potato, broccoli, brussels sprouts, chicken, ground beef — whatever’s in the fridge) crisped up in a pan with olive oil, topped with 2 fried or soft-scrambled eggs, avocado, and a drizzle of hot sauce or tahini
(And yes — weekends are still for indulging. This isn’t about perfection. 🥂)
What’s your body telling you it needs in the morning?
