Meet Raj. With pain in his knees, he was told it was due to his age and arthritis. He was having a hard time keeping up with his wife on walks because of the pain. He loved to travel but because of his limited ability to walk, he was having a hard time enjoying it.

At his first Egoscue session he learned that his knees didn't hurt because of his age or his arthritis, but because his body's alignment was compromised. Look at his "Before" photos on the left. His feet and knees were significantly turned out and his whole body was tipping forward. After a few targeted corrective exercises, he walked out of his session already feeling less pain. After a few months of dedicated work his posture was transformed. More importantly, he was walking without pain and happily traveling again.

Join Zac from Egoscue of Seattle to learn exactly how we found the source of his pain and how you can do the same for yours.

Does this look familiar?

It’s easy to feel stuck when chronic pain sets in, especially when you don't understand why it's happening. But the answer is often simpler than you think: a lack of functional movement.

You don't have to live in this loop. By restoring proper posture and reintroducing balanced motion, you can give your body exactly what it needs to heal itself.

Stop managing the pain and start solving it.

Why I do what I do 👇
This client complained about her hips hurting every time she got up from sitting or after standing for a while. She was a caregiver to her father for several months before he passed away and it really took a toll on her body.

Now she's committed to taking care of herself and already, after just our first session, she's feeling improvements! I love seeing people get excited about their life again after suffering from chronic pain for so long.

At Egoscue, we focus on balancing your muscles and aligning your joints so your body naturally holds itself the right way—without you having to think about it. 🙌

This is why you aren't getting better 👇

1) Impatience.
Our expectations have evolved to match our fast paced modern environment and we expect instant results. The body doesn't work on that timeline. It probably took you years to develop your current condition. Long-lasting results require time and consistency.

2) Holding on to certainty.
Certainty can remove our sense of personal responsibility. If we have a definitive diagnosis there is a pre-established treatment plan that should work. If it doesn't, we can blame it on the medical establishment that "failed us." Too often, we anchor on that certainty and overlook the imbalances or lifestyle factors that caused our diagnosis to begin with.

3) "Fix Me" mentality.
When it comes to pain, there is a huge difference in outcomes between patients who choose the driver's seat and those who elect to sit passively in the passenger seat. If you actively engage in and take some responsibility for your pain treatment, you will have better outcomes.

"But my knees are just getting old..."

If aging were the real reason your knees hurt, both of your knees would hurt equally. After all, they’ve been on the planet for the exact same number of years!

When one knee throbs while the other feels fine, age isn't the culprit—misalignment is.

The Real Culprit: imbalance in your musculoskeletal system.

Your knees are simple hinge joints caught in the middle of a tug-of-war. They can only track where your ankles and hips tell them to go.

-The Setup: If your pelvis is rotated or one hip is tight or weak, your weight shifts unevenly. Maybe one leg turns out more than the other.

-The Impact: One leg forces a single knee to absorb more of the impact with every step you take.

-The Result: Chronic wear, tear, and pain that gets wrongly blamed on the calendar.

Stop Treating the Symptom, Fix the Source!

Chasing knee pain with ice, braces, or rest is just a temporary fix. To actually solve it, you have to look at the whole body. Balance your posture, restore your alignment, and your knees will thank you.

When we lose our natural posture and balance, our muscles and joints pay the price. The good news? You can listen to these signals and fix the root cause.
