Everyone, meet Susan. Susan has been part of our department as a Physician Assistant extraordinaire and putting up with us since 2002. After all these years, she's decided it's time to retire. We're so happy for her, but definitely sad for us.

As part of her goodbye tour, she decided to scrub in for one last surgery with Dr. Savardekar. We're going to miss her so very much. Thank you, Susan, for everything you've done over the years, and congratulations on your well-deserved retirement!!!

We are proud to have welcomed nine outstanding students to the LSU Health Shreveport Department of Neurosurgery through the REACH Summer Research Program: Macy Guy, Elsie Jane Adams, Mallory Benton, Morgan Moore, Avery Hebert, Victoria Bellanger, Alec Williams, Emma Plaisance, and Francie Bishop. Throughout the summer, these students worked diligently on a variety of neuroscience and neurosurgery research projects, developed valuable research and critical thinking skills, and showcased their accomplishments during our summer poster session. Their curiosity, dedication, and enthusiasm for learning made this an incredibly rewarding experience for both the students and our faculty. We are grateful to our mentors: Dr. Deepak Kumbhare, Dr. Julie Schwertfeger, Dr. Jamie Toms, Dr. Bharat Guthikonda, Dr. Stanley Hoang, and Huy Tran, for their commitment to mentoring these students.

Congratulations to all of our students on an outstanding summer! We are proud of everything you have accomplished.
