This would be due to the manufacturer.

RIC: Receiver-In-Canal
BET: Behind-The-Ear
CIC: Completely-In-Canal

😀 It is part of the job of an audiologist to explain to you these terms and tell you why they should be considered.

The tiny hair cells in your inner ear naturally deteriorate with time? 🤕 And no, those hair cells do not regrow.....

This can in turn cause hearing loss....👂

For this reason, if you're over the age of 60, we recommend getting your hearing tested annually.

Honestly, anyone who is questioning on whether they are experiencing hearing loss should have a hearing test. 🙂

For those under 60 yrs old, we recommend a hearing test every 3-5 years ✅.

Those over 60 should have this exam done annually ✅.

And of course if you have any sudden changes in your hearing or hear ringing or buzzing often, schedule a hearing test right away ✅.

We see this all the time in the office…

If you can clearly hear your child's AirPods from across the room, the volume is probably too high. 🎧

Noise-induced hearing loss is permanent, but it's also one of the most preventable causes of hearing damage.

📏A simple rule of thumb: if someone nearby can hear what's playing through their earbuds, it's time to turn the volume down.

Small habits today can help protect their hearing for years to come.

👂 Pay attention! You may have to remind your child (or spouse!) to turn the volume down!
