Demonstration of 🌼Dandelion Salve, made with my homemade essential oil, (2)oz $20

I am RN and a community herbalist. All of my products are homemade, all natural, no chemical chemicals no toxins!

Every spring, dandelions show up like they own the place, and honestly, they kind of do. We joke that we’re basically dandelion farmers, because they take over our fields and gardens the minute the snow finally gives up.

I make dandelion tinctures and use dandelion recipes, because if you’re going to fight them, you might as well put them to work.
Dandelions are medicinal plants and they have a long history of use by Native American, European and Asian herbalists.

Dandelions are great herbs for skin care, protecting the skin, and treating conditions like eczema and poison ivy

One study, found that a dandelion extract, increased the generation of new skin cells.

Another study indicated, that it helps reduce skin inflammation.

Dandelion is used for dry, chapped skin and sore muscles.
and for dealing with the dry, cracked hands and has made a significant difference.

Dandelions is Used For
soothing protective skin.

Dandelion blossoms are traditionally used in folk herbalism, for calming irritated skin, and the oil infusion, pairs beautifully with beeswax, which forms a breathable barrier that helps slow moisture loss.

* Dry skin and rough patches (hands, heels, knuckles, elbows)
* Post-garden muscles and skin that feel tight or overworked
* Windburn and general chapping
Important note: Don’t use dandelion essential oils, with a carrier oil, on deep cuts, punctures, serious burns, or infected skin. If you have ragweed allergies or very sensitive skin, patch test first.

You also need a neutral oil to infuse with dandelions. I use olive oil, but you can also use coconut, almond, grapeseed, or jojoba oil.

These oils are excellent, because they don’t have strong smells and are soothing for the skin. Works great for your body.

Dandelions are edible and a medicinal plant, used to make medicinal tinctures, in their entirety, including their roots, leaves, flowers, and seeds.

I use flowers that look fresh and like they have just opened and I avoid picking older flowers. I use scissors to cut the blooms, right below the flower ,where the stem starts.

I have to collect enough dandelion flowers to fill 3 pint mason jars. I have to firmly packed in. I use the flowers whole and cutting board, to chop them up a bit. Cutting the dandelion flowers into pieces increases their surface area and allows the oil to infuse more quickly.

Once i have a jar packed, almost full of dandelion flowers, i cover them with the neutral oil, of your choice, I use olive oil. I Leave just a bit of headspace.

I will put the jar in direct sunlight to continue the infusion process, for two weeks and shaking it every day.

Then after two weeks, I strain out the dandelion flowers. Depending on how fine the pieces are. I strain with a cheese cloth, to separate the flowers and drain the oil Into a glass jar with a lid. Then I stored in a dry, cool place.

As I said earlier, Dandelion is excellent for nurturing dry, chapped, cracked, and inflamed skin! Now I can use my dandelion essential oil and my medicinal tinctures, essential oil bottles, for a diffuser, air freshener, candles, my baths, and so much more!
