On March 30, 2026, Sterilization Rights of Person with Disabilities was signed into Colorado law. This law prohibits the forced sterilization of people with disabilities. Disability Justice and The Arc of Colorado were instrumental in getting this law passed.

➡️ Support D/deaf-led organizations like HEARD, Deaf Q***r Resource Center, Deaf LEAD, National Association of the Deaf - NAD, or Deaf DAWN in DC.

Airlines break and mishandle nearly 30 wheelchairs every day. And people with physical, mental, and developmental disabilities face constant barriers during air travel.

🧳 Lost luggage.
💺 Cramped seating.
🚨 Inconsistent and overwhelming security protocols.

These might be inconveniences for someone without a disability, but for a disabled person, they can be expensive, traumatic, or life-altering.

Lost luggage → lost prescriptions or medical equipment.
Cramped seating → flare-ups and increased exposure to airborne diseases.
Inconsistent security protocols → increased contact with law enforcement and misinterpretation of disability symptoms as "unsafe behavior."

Replacing or repairing wheelchairs, prescription, mobility aids, or other medical equipment can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

People with disabilities deserve access to safe, dignified, and accessible air travel.

these challenging, ableist times are giving us some strong feelings. to get these feelings off our chest, we let our gen z staff take over for the day 🤭

but why memes?

because history is filled with the oppression of disabled people. disabled people survived those times before, and we'll survive them again.

resistance and advocacy are important parts of that survival. and so are humor and relatability. that's what we're serving up today.

People with disabilities belong everywhere – including in the music industry. This Tuesday, August 11 was National Hip-Hop Day. In honor of the day, we’re sharing about 3 hip-hop artists with disabilities!

Music can empower audiences to embrace their own diverse identities. We’re grateful for artists with disabilities whose work does exactly that.

People with disabilities are important parts of the past, present, and future of the Voting Rights Act.

On August 6, 1965, the Voting Rights Act was signed into law. Marches and lobbying by Black disabled activists like Fannie Lou Hamer were key to getting this landmark federal law signed.

This landmark federal law outlawed racist and discriminatory voting practices, such as requiring voters to pass literacy tests before voting. These practices also harmed people with disabilities.

Over 60 years later, voting rights are still under attack. Inaccessible polling places, threats to mail-in voting, and barriers to voter registration all make voting difficult for people with disabilities. We must expand rights for disabled voters.
