Joe is working hard on spelling his name! And Play-Doh makes it fun! 🙌 Using Play-Doh to form letters is a great way to make handwriting practice hands-on while working on fine motor skills, letter formation, and name recognition. 🧠✨

We’ve been loving using this Back-To-School Sensory Bin as a therapy opener! Not only does it work on visual scanning, attention, and fine motor skills, but it also gives us an opportunity to check in with our kiddos and ask how the start of school is going! Sometimes a little sensory play is the perfect way to get comfortable, connect, and start a therapy session. ✨

Back-to-school can be a BIG sensory transition! 🎒📚 New routines, busy classrooms, loud environments, and lots of expectations can feel overwhelming for some kids.

A few ways to support your child:
✨ Build in movement breaks
✨ Use visual schedules and predictable routines
✨ Offer calming sensory activities before and after school
✨ Pack familiar sensory tools when appropriate
✨ Give extra time and patience as your child adjusts

Remember, sensory support isn’t about avoiding challenges, it’s about helping your child feel regulated and ready to learn.

Have some Play-Doh at home? Grab a piece of paper and draw a simple picture to place the Play-Doh on! 🎨

This simple activity works on hand strength, fine motor control, bilateral coordination, and motor planning.

Rolling small balls of Play-Doh helps little hands build strength and precision, while using the hammer tool to squish them down adds an extra dose of heavy work and hand-eye coordination. 🔨

Sometimes the best therapy activities look just like play! ✨
