Introducing our emcee for the 2026 Rooted in Faith Garden Gala, Katelyn Andrist!

Katelyn Ann Andrist is a passionate disability advocate, published children’s book author and Special Events Coordinator for Special Olympics Kansas. Working statewide and traveling to communities across Kansas, she has dedicated more than 12 years to ensuring individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are seen, heard, valued and celebrated.

She is also the author of Becoming Confident and has raised more than $75,000 to distribute over 12,500 copies across 47 states. Her book is housed in the Library of Congress and carried in 184 public libraries across Kansas.

For Katelyn, inclusion is more than her profession—it is her purpose. Whether she is coordinating events throughout the state, coaching athletes, speaking onstage or advocating in her community, she works toward a world where every ability is celebrated, every voice holds power and everyone has a place in the game. Katelyn is honored to serve as tonight’s emcee and celebrate the extraordinary individuals, families, advocates and supporters who make this mission possible.

Meet Ronnie, our live painter for the Rooted in Faith Garden Gala!

I am a 27 year old mother of 2 sweet kiddos 3 and 6. I live in Ark City but was partially raised in both winfield and Marysville ks. I am a full time artist and am a member of a ministry based in Cowley Co.

This form of worship for me is a way to hear him speak and receive revelation that allows others and myself to physically see the word. He has given me the ability to hear and see what he’s speaking and create a tangible picture from that not just for myself, but for those receiving it. The steps of the process aren’t always the same. Sometimes I know what I will be painting as I pull into a parking lot with repetitive words and scripture filling my mind. Sometimes I sit and stare at a canvas without a clue and suddenly I’m given an object to start with. Sometimes I have a vision of the painting and have no idea what it means until I begin the process.
As I paint I pray and listen, he speaks and reveals. Although the process is never the same, the purpose is.

Ronnie’s painting will be auctioned live at the gala and one lucky person will receive the one of a kind artwork!
