Just dropped on Apple, Spotify and YouTube! Food addiction, ultra processed food recovery, and eating disorder patterns are explored in this episode of Real Food Recovery Podcast™. This conversation focuses on the overlap between eating disorders and ultra processed food addiction and what that means for recovery.
Real Food Recovery Podcast™ was created from a society wrestling with ultra-processed food addiction and the deep exhaustion that comes from feeling trapped in destructive patterns. After decades of obsession, frustration, and starting over, Paige Alexander holds this space to speak honestly about what it takes to heal, offering lived experience, grounded perspective, and practical tools to rebuild a life rooted in peace instead of chaos.
In this episode, Paige sits down with eating disorder specialist Malorie Tenore to explore the often overlooked intersection between eating disorders and ultra processed food addiction. This conversation opens the door to a deeper understanding of how these patterns can overlap and why that matters for recovery.
Together, Paige and Malorie discuss the nuances of disordered eating, the role of ultra processed foods in reinforcing cycles, and what it looks like to approach recovery with more clarity and awareness. They also explore where traditional eating disorder frameworks and emerging conversations around food addiction align and where they differ.
Malorie shares insights from her work in the eating disorder space, along with perspectives from her book Slip, offering a more layered and honest look at recovery beyond surface level solutions.
If you have ever questioned where your experience fits, or felt caught between different recovery models, this conversation will meet you where you are.

If I Were Rich

If I were rich, I’d have someone peel my ginger and make my ginger tea every day. ☕️

Turns out, I can do it myself in just a few minutes.

What’s your version of ginger tea—your small everyday luxury?

Now that my husband is gone, I’m the one in charge of the flowers.

Today, while buying plants, I met a woman who had also lost her husband. Within minutes, we were hugging in the garden aisle, connected by a loss neither of us chose.

In that moment, I was reminded that connection is the opposite of addiction. When we feel seen, heard, understood, and no longer alone, something begins to heal.

Summer in a Bowl

Tell me it’s summer without telling me it’s summer. ☀️🥗

For me, it’s a giant colorful salad overflowing with fresh fruits, crunchy vegetables, walnuts, and a splash of white balsamic vinegar.

The best part about summer produce isn’t just the flavor—it’s how easy it makes healthy eating. When fresh food tastes this good, nourishing your body feels less like a chore and more like a celebration.

What produce says SUMMER to you? 🍉🍓🍑🌽🥒

Just dropped on Apple, Spotify and YouTube! Food addiction, ultra processed food recovery, and nervous system regulation are explored in this episode of Real Food Recovery Podcast™. This conversation focuses on how calming the nervous system supports recovery from ultra processed food patterns and creates more intentional, sustainable living.
In this episode, Paige sits down with Michele Reyes to explore what it really means to create calm in the middle of a full, often overwhelming life. This conversation focuses on nervous system regulation, intentional living, and how small, grounded shifts can help you move out of reactivity and into stability.
Michele is a master certified life coach with advanced training in nervous system resilience and the creator of The Intentionality Method™. Through her work, she helps women move from feeling scattered and reactive into a more intentional, anchored way of living.
Together, Paige and Michele discuss how stress, overwhelm, and daily demands impact the nervous system, and how learning to regulate it can change the way you show up in your relationships, your habits, and your recovery. They also explore what it looks like to build a life that feels calm and supportive, even when it is not perfect.

Everyday Recovery

People often think recovery happens in the big dramatic moments.

But most of it is quieter than that.

It’s the everyday vigilance nobody sees.
Choosing real food again and again.
Prepping a simple meal instead of defaulting to old patterns.
Slowing down long enough to notice what actually supports your body.
Showing up for yourself in ordinary moments that don’t feel like much at the time.

Recovery isn’t built in a breakthrough moment.

It’s built in repetition.
In small choices.
In the kitchen.
In real life.

Today it looked like tearing fresh kale from a friend’s garden and reminding myself that this is what staying well actually looks like.

Addiction has two branches: physical and emotional.

In real recovery, I don’t see them as separate—they’re deeply connected.

That’s why at Real Food Recovery, we start with the foundations: real food, sleep, movement, and spirituality.

When those are in place, the fog clears and you can finally see what’s really going on underneath.

Start there. Then build from clarity, not confusion.
