Just dropped on Apple, Spotify and YouTube. Food addiction, ultra processed food recovery, and thought patterns are explored in this episode of Real Food Recovery Podcast™. This conversation focuses on how the brain distorts reality, reinforces emotional patterns, and influences behavior in both food recovery and daily life.
Real Food Recovery Podcast™ was created from a deeply personal journey through processed food addiction, recovery, and the search for lasting peace. After decades of struggle, Paige Alexander now uses this space to share honest conversations, practical tools, and real life insights to help others break free from food obsession and rebuild trust with themselves.
This is Part 1 of a 2 part series with Natalie Ellis. Be sure to listen to Part 2 where the conversation shifts into metabolic health and simple daily habits to restore energy.
In this episode, Paige sits down with Natalie Ellis, a certified life coach with a degree in Human Development from Brigham Young University, to explore the powerful connection between thoughts, emotions, and behavior, especially in the context of recovery and motherhood.
Natalie teaches a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that focuses on how thoughts shape feelings, actions, and results. Together, they break down the ways the brain can distort reality, influence decisions, and keep people stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.
You will learn how to recognize mental patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts, and begin creating more intentional, grounded responses in both your relationship with food and your everyday life.
Natalie is also the host of the Motherhood Matters podcast and works with women who want to strengthen their influence through emotional awareness and regulation. She and her husband Matt have been married for 27 years and are raising five children.
This conversation offers practical tools for anyone who feels overwhelmed, reactive, or stuck, and provides a path toward greater clarity, self awareness, and lasting change.

Have you noticed how grocery stores place tempting ultra-processed foods right next to your healthy choices?

Apples with caramel dip.
Berries with sugary toppings.
Salads surrounded by processed add-ons.

It’s not about willpower… your environment matters.

Try this:
✅ Put the real food in your cart first.
✅ Don’t stop to browse the distractions.
✅ Remember: if it’s not in your cart, it won’t end up in your house.

Small changes in your environment can make healthy choices easier.

What started as planting flowers for my husband became part of healing my own heart. 🌸

I planted these seeds in April. They didn’t bloom until the middle of July, but they reminded me that some of the most beautiful things take time—including healing.

Just dropped on Apple, Spotify, and YouTube. Food addiction, ultra processed food recovery, and intuitive eating are explored in this episode of Real Food Recovery Podcast™. This conversation focuses on why diets fail long term, how restriction impacts hunger signals, and what it takes to rebuild trust with your body in recovery.
If you have ever wondered why diets do not work or questioned whether you can truly trust your hunger, this conversation will change how you see your relationship with food.
This is Part 2 of a 2 part series with Anne Poirier. If you have not listened to Part 1, be sure to start there for a deeper exploration of body image, impulse control, and the “body bully” narrative.
Real Food Recovery Podcast™ was born from a world struggling with ultra-processed food addiction and the quiet pain of feeling stuck in patterns that do not serve us. After decades of food obsession, starting over, and searching for peace, Paige Alexander creates a space for honest conversations about what it truly takes to heal.
In this episode, Paige continues her discussion with Anne Poirier, body image expert and intuitive eating counselor, to explore how to rebuild self trust after years of dieting, restriction, and food rules.
Together, they break down why diets fail long term, how restriction disrupts both the brain and body, and what it actually looks like to reconnect with natural hunger cues. They also explore intuitive eating in recovery, exercise addiction, the body bully voice, and the lasting impact of chronic restriction.
This episode offers a clear, compassionate path forward for anyone stuck in the cycle of starting over, second guessing hunger, or fearing loss of control around food.
You are not broken. Your body is not the enemy. And with the right awareness, healing is possible.

Healthy change doesn’t happen because you’re lucky or endlessly motivated—it happens because your repeated choices reshape both your brain and your identity. Every healthy decision strengthens the pathway to the next one, until those choices become part of who you are.

If unhealthy habits can be learned, healthy habits can be learned too.
