As Father Warren is in his final days with us, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for all he has done for our school community over the past five years. As our spiritual leader, mentor, and friend, he has guided our students with faith, wisdom, compassion, and joy. His presence has been a blessing to so many, and the impact he has made on our school will be felt for years to come.

While it is difficult to say goodbye, we are excited for this next chapter in his journey as he becomes the priest of his own parish. Please join us in thanking Father Warren for his dedication, prayers, and unwavering support of our students and families. We will miss him dearly, but we are also praying for him as he begins this new mission. May God continue to bless and guide him in all that lies ahead.

Congratulations to our new football coach, Dirk Stanger! Welcome back home, Dirk!

Dear Marian Central Catholic Community,

Marian Central Catholic High School is proud to announce and welcome Dirk Stanger as our new Head Varsity Football Coach.

Coach Stanger brings an impressive 23 years of high school football coaching experience to the Marian Central Catholic football program. His coaching career includes serving at Marian Central Catholic from 2003–2014 and at Crystal Lake Central from 2016–2025, where he served as both an Offensive Coordinator and Head Coach.

Throughout his coaching career, Coach Stanger has demonstrated a strong commitment to developing student athletes both on and off the field. His leadership has helped more than 20 players continue their football careers at the Division I level, including three athletes who went on to play in the NFL.

As a player, Coach Stanger competed at the collegiate level for the University of Wisconsin, where he was part of teams that won the Rose Bowl, Hall of Fame Bowl, and Copper Bowl. His extensive playing experience, combined with his proven coaching success, makes him an outstanding leader for our football program.

Given the current state of our football program, we want to assure our community that Coach Stanger was not simply a quick selection for this position. We conducted a search and interviewed multiple highly qualified candidates before making our decision.

After a thorough evaluation process, we firmly believe that Coach Stanger is the right leader for Marian Central Catholic Football. His vision is to build Marian Central Catholic into a football powerhouse while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, discipline, and character. We are confident that his experience, leadership, and commitment to student-athlete development will help elevate our program both on and off the field.

We could not be more excited to have Coach Stanger join the Marian Central Catholic family. Please join us in giving Dirk and his family a warm Marian welcome as we look forward to an exciting future for Hurricane Football.

Congratulations to Katie Green ('27) who will be representing Marian Central at the American Legion Auxiliary Illini Girls State session taking place this June 21-27 on the campus of Eastern Illinois University. Illini Girls State is a unique, weeklong, hands-on experience in the operation and fundamentals of government. Attendees experience the rights, privileges, duties and responsibilities of citizenship while interacting with rising seniors from all over the state of Illinois. A special thank you to the Woodstock American Legion Post 412 for sponsoring Katie!
