The proposed shift from PCOS to PMOS highlights that this condition involves more than ovarian cysts.

PMOS may also include metabolic concerns such as insulin resistance. Recognizing these factors earlier may help support appropriate screening for blood sugar changes, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular health concerns.

Greater awareness may help more patients receive timely evaluation, especially when cysts aren't present, but hormonal or metabolic symptoms remain.

Watch Part 2 of our PMOS Video Series to learn how a broader understanding of PMOS may support long-term health discussions with a licensed healthcare provider.

A medication can be appropriate for a child and still be difficult to take.

Strong or bitter flavors may turn each dose into a struggle, especially when the medication is needed more than once.

For certain prescriptions, a practitioner may request a compounded preparation with a more familiar flavor. The goal is not to disguise the medication, but to make following the prescribed routine more manageable for the child and caregiver.

The old name made ovarian cysts sound like the main event.

Medication response is personal.

Pharmacogenomic testing, also known as PGx testing, may help explain how genetics may affect the way our body processes certain medications.

PGx testing does not diagnose disease or replace a healthcare provider’s judgment. It may add another layer of information to our medication review.

Ask our pharmacy team how the FlexHealth PGx process works: cocprx.com/pharmacogenomic-testing

A strong gag reflex can make even routine parts of a dental visit difficult.

X-rays, impressions, and intraoral scans may become uncomfortable or hard to complete when certain areas of the mouth are especially sensitive.

When prescribed by a dental practitioner, a compounded topical preparation may help reduce that sensitivity before the procedure.

It is a focused option for a very specific dental-care challenge.
