Meet Anna :)

Not every young person wants loud activities or constant social interaction.

Some just want someone patient to sit beside them while they:
- play Minecraft or Roblox
- draw or do craft
- talk about their favourite books
- listen to music
- get out of the house at their own pace

Anna uses these activities to reinforce healthy lifestyles and simulate social interactions.

She is completing her third year a Bachelor of Social Work and has lived and professional experience supporting children and teenagers with autism/ADHD/PDA. She's calm, kind and understands that feeling comfortable comes before progress happens.

If your child has struggled to connect with support workers in the past, Anna does free meet and greets :)

A participant took these!

Honestly, I forgot how much fun Polaroid cameras are. And how accessible they are now ($100 from Kmart).

No filters.
No editing.
No deleting the bad ones.

You get one shot, and whatever comes out is what you’ve got.

There’s something pretty cool about that in a world where everything is digital and curated.

Anyone else still have a soft spot for old-school cameras?

A few Polaroids taken by a participant from a recent support session!

One of the things our team loves most about support work is finding creative ways to build confidence, skills and independence through fun activities.

This session started with just wanting to try something different and have fun with photography, then turned into conversations around:
- creativity
- resume skills
- career interests
- confidence building

The support worker brought along a Polaroid camera and spent the session posing for the participant as they became a photographer.

Sometimes growth doesn’t happen through formal activities or sitting at a table.

It starts with something as simple as giving someone the space to explore an interest and feel proud of what they create 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, carers, grandmothers and mother figures out there!

Especially the mums who are constantly advocating, organising, supporting, encouraging, comforting, driving, researching, worrying, celebrating the small wins, and doing a million unseen things every single day.

We see how much love and effort goes into supporting your young people, and today is for you too.

Hope you’ve all had a chance to slow down and feel appreciated today.

Things that have happened during support sessions lately:

🎮 An intense Roblox debate over the “right” way to build a house in Bloxburg
🎲 Someone discovering Catan is can be super competitive
⛸️ Falling over skating… and getting back up
🍟 A very serious discussion about the healthiest coeliac safe chips in Melbourne
🚶 A walk that turned into talking about life goals

A lot of support work doesn’t look the way people expect.

Sometimes the biggest progress comes from feeling comfortable enough to:
✔️ Leave the house
✔️ Try something new
✔️ Talk openly
✔️ Build trust with someone

And honestly, that usually starts with just having fun together first.

That’s why we love what we do ❤️
