Your grip isnât just one thing.
Thereâs many different types of grip training and most people train exactly zero of them intentionally. đ
Different grips recruit different muscles, tendons, and motor patterns. Training only one means leaving gaps - and those gaps show up as the weakest link when it matters.
An important part of why we built Hand + Wrist Foundations. Grip is one of the strongest predictors of longevity we haveâŠ
âŠ. a 5 kg decrease in handgrip strength is linked to a 16â17% increased risk of all-cause mortality. And yet itâs almost never trained directly.
The good news? You donât need a fancy gym full of grip toys to get started. If you have dumbbells, a bar to hang from, and some bands - youâre in. Thatâs genuinely enough to build strong, resilient hands and wrists.
If you want to get more advanced, weâve got you covered too. The program includes progressions with some of the fun specialized tools you see in videos like this. But theyâre add-ons, not requirements.
Everything your hands need to keep up with you - mobility, tendon capacity, progressive loading, and yes, all the grip types - is in Hand + Wrist Foundations.
