Your grip isn’t just one thing.

There’s many different types of grip training and most people train exactly zero of them intentionally. 😅

Different grips recruit different muscles, tendons, and motor patterns. Training only one means leaving gaps - and those gaps show up as the weakest link when it matters.

An important part of why we built Hand + Wrist Foundations. Grip is one of the strongest predictors of longevity we have

. a 5 kg decrease in handgrip strength is linked to a 16–17% increased risk of all-cause mortality. And yet it’s almost never trained directly.

The good news? You don’t need a fancy gym full of grip toys to get started. If you have dumbbells, a bar to hang from, and some bands - you’re in. That’s genuinely enough to build strong, resilient hands and wrists.
If you want to get more advanced, we’ve got you covered too. The program includes progressions with some of the fun specialized tools you see in videos like this. But they’re add-ons, not requirements.

Everything your hands need to keep up with you - mobility, tendon capacity, progressive loading, and yes, all the grip types - is in Hand + Wrist Foundations.

The better question might not be “Why can’t I train more?” but “What’s getting in the way?” 👀

Sometimes the problem isn’t that you’re not trying hard enough, it’s that something in the bigger picture isn’t being addressed.

Training consistently takes more than just motivation. Your body needs the capacity to handle the demands you’re putting on it.

That’s where testing, assessment, and a more complete approach to performance can make a difference. And we happen to be the place that can cover most of your bases. 😉

Posture isn’t inherently “good” or “bad,” and there’s no single position your body needs to stay in all day. What matters more is how well your body can move, adapt, and tolerate different positions and loads.

And yes, pretty much any practitioner or trainer at Vital will tell you the same thing.

Our Co-Founder and Exercise Physiologist Carla Robbins broke down some of the biggest misconceptions around posture, what the research actually tells us, and what you can do instead of constantly trying to “fix” your alignment in a blog.

Yes, our team is knowledge-maxxing to be the best practitioners and trainers for you. 🧠

That’s why we created a mentorship program that gives every member of our team the opportunity to strengthen their skills, learn from their colleagues, and build stronger collaboration across the team.

Each week, mentees meet with their mentors to set professional goals, ask literally any question, talk through marketing strategies to put themselves out there, and learn from each other’s approaches to treatment and training.

We’re pretty lucky to have a team that’s so willing to work together, learn from one another, and help each other grow.

Because the better we get as a team, the better we can serve you. đŸ’Ș
