Today, May 30th, is Mother’s Day in Nicaragua 🇳🇮 ❤️
I feel incredibly grateful to experience two Mother’s Days each year one from being born in beautiful Nicaragua and another from living most of my life in sweet Canada 🇨🇦.
In Nicaragua, we celebrate Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Children’s Day. These celebrations remind us of the precious people in our lives.
Fun fact: Children’s Day in Nicaragua is on my birthday, April 30th. I so love kids. 💕 Children are a gift, a joy, and such a beautiful reminder of innocence, curiosity, play, and possibility.
But what would it be like if we celebrated each other every day?
If we only had 24 hours left to live, what would we do differently?
Who would we call?
What words of gratitude, love, appreciation, or forgiveness have we not yet expressed to someone we deeply care about?
What dreams would we finally choose?
And what emotions, hurts, judgments, or fears are keeping us from fully receiving love from the people around us?
Today, I invite you to pause for a moment.
Tell someone you love them.
Thank someone who has contributed to your life.
Forgive where you can.
Receive kindness when it is offered.
Celebrate the people who make your world brighter.
For me, generosity of spirit is the key to gifting and receiving. It is not about “give and take.” It is about contribution, kindness, respect, and allowing love to flow both ways.
Life has also taught me not to judge the path of marriage, divorce, or single motherhood. Some marriages are happy. Some are deeply unhappy but stay together for image, fear, obligation, or to avoid judgment.
And what I have learned is this: positive judgment and negative judgment are both still judgments.
When someone judged me around divorce, I thanked them for taking some karma off me 👍
I am proud that I experienced being a single mom. It made me strong. It showed me what I truly desire. It taught me not to settle for less than kindness, respect, loyalty, emotional safety, and true contribution.
Every chapter has shaped me.
Every challenge has strengthened me.
Every experience has invited me to choose more of myself.
Life is precious.
Love is a gift.
And tomorrow is never guaranteed.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers in Nicaragua and around the world. 🌹❤️
With gratitude,

If you had only 24 hours left to live, who would you reach out to, and what would you want them to know?
