We’ve all been told that "circumstances dictate our feelings." If traffic is bad, we get angry. If a meeting goes sideways, we have a bad day. But what if we have it completely backward? What if your feelings are actually creating your circumstances?
Think about it: have you ever woken up on the wrong side of the bed, stubbed your toe, and thought, "Yep, today is going to be a disaster"?
Suddenly, every red light feels like a personal attack. A minor email from a coworker feels like passive-aggressive warfare. You snap at your partner, spill your coffee, and by 5 PM, you declare, "See? I knew today would suck."
But did it suck because of destiny, or did your initial vibe act like a magnet for chaos? 🧲
When we approach the world looking for reasons to be annoyed, our brains are literally wired to find them. The wild part? The reverse is also true. The second you realize that you have a say in what comes next, the script flips. You stop reacting to your life and start directing it.
The next time a minor inconvenience happens, pause. You can’t always control the first thought in your head, but you can control the second one.
