🇨🇦🇰🇿 Meet CFMS-Canada’s delegation representing Canada at the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) August Meeting 2026 held in Astana, Kazakhstan from August 1–7, 2026.

Our mighty team of student leaders will be contributing to a variety of standing committees within the federation focusing on topics including health systems sustainability, exchange contract signing, financial equity, research integration, and health leadership. Their presence ensures that Canadian voices are heard in global discussions and that our domestic initiatives are shared with the international community.

Dr. Brown discusses his philosophy on the importance of research in medicine, which includes his experience completing a PhD in neuroscience prior to medical school. He also speaks about the role of mentorship throughout medical training and the various national and international research collaborators and colleagues he met along the way.

The CMA is looking for medical students who are interested in participating in a virtual, one-hour focus group next week. Absolutely no experience is required to participate (non-members are also welcome!) and the informal, small group-setting discussion is being led by a third party (Abacus). The CMA is looking to understand the existing value of membership and test new potential ideas (i.e., what might be most impactful to medical students moving forward). The virtual focus group is taking place on July 15th from 5:30-6:30 pm ET, other time zones are listed below:

Newfoundland Time (NT): 6:00 PM
Atlantic Time (AT): 5:30 PM
Eastern Time (ET): 5:30 PM
Central Time (CT): 4:30 PM
Mountain Time (MT): 3:30 PM
Pacific Time (PT): 2:30 PM
