We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this year’s CHEP+ conference such a meaningful success. With 16 outstanding speakers and 13 engaging presentations, the event was a powerful demonstration of collaboration, innovation, and shared commitment to improving brain and heart health.

A special milestone was the release of the new Brain–Heart Practice Guideline in the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ)—a moment that reflects years of dedication and collective expertise. This guideline is the result of the groundbreaking interdisciplinary Brain-Heart Interconnectome (BHI) research program, aimed at accelerating the prevention, detection, treatment, and care of brain and heart disorders.

The conference, held on March 28, 2026, in a hybrid format (in-person at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto and online), brought together a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals. Key topics included: the brain-heart interconnection, new vaccination recommendations for stroke and dementia prevention, the impact of mental health on brain-heart outcomes (loneliness, depression, adverse childhood experiences), and the management of diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and heart failure.

Thank you for your enthusiasm, thoughtful questions, and active engagement throughout the sessions. Your participation created an energizing environment where ideas were exchanged, knowledge was deepened, and meaningful connections were formed. We are truly grateful for your ongoing support and commitment to advancing care in this important field.
