🎨 It’s never too late to try something new.

At 86, a participant in our Forever Young Art & Craft Program (55+) picked up a paintbrush for the first time and created this beautiful piece.

Having never had the opportunity to take art classes growing up, this first painting was an especially meaningful accomplishment. It was such a hit with the family that everyone wants to frame and keep it!

This , we’re celebrating opportunities to learn, create, connect, and discover something new at every stage of life.

🏛️ Bringing community health voices to Queen’s Park.

Flemingdon Health Centre was proud to join the Alliance for Healthier Communities’ Queen’s Park Day yesterday, advocating for the Community Health Centre model and the clients, communities, and staff at the heart of our work.

We were proud to share the progress we’re making in connecting more Ontarians to primary care through our Thorncliffe Park Neighbourhood Health Home, made possible by our dedicated teams working every day to improve access to equitable, community-based care.

As we mark Community Health & Wellbeing Month 2026, this is Furthering Health Equity, Powering Connections in action by bringing community health voices to decision-makers.

💉 Connecting students and families to accessible vaccination services close to home.

This Community Health & Wellbeing Month, we’re highlighting how strong community partnerships can help further health equity and power connections to care.

From late September through October, Flemingdon Health Centre and Health Access Thorncliffe Park partnered with Toronto Public Health and local schools to deliver five weeks of school-based vaccine clinics.

Together, we helped more than 100 students update their immunization records or receive the vaccinations they needed.

A big thank you to our Community Health Ambassadors, HINCs, Nursing team, Toronto Public Health, Thorncliffe Park Public School and Gateway Public School for making this work possible. 💚

🥗 This Community Health & Wellbeing Month, let’s have some fun with food!

Join our Fun with Food program to explore nutrition, build food knowledge, and connect with others through interactive conversations with a dietitian.

There’s a session tomorrow, October 28, and the program continues monthly, so there are more opportunities to join us!

💼 This Community Health & Wellbeing Month, we’re powering connections to future opportunities!

Our upcoming Youth Job Exploration Program supports youth ages 15–17 in building confidence, developing job-readiness skills, and exploring career and education opportunities.

Over five weeks, participants will learn about resumes and cover letters, job searching, interview preparation, communication skills, and more.

Last week, youth participants joined our Youth Wellness Workshop on Stress Management for an interactive conversation about stress, how it can affect our daily lives, and healthy ways to cope.⁠

They shared their own perspectives on how they manage stress and took part in activities that encouraged learning, conversation, and practical skill-building.⁠

Last week, participants came together for another Line Dancing for Fun & Fitness (55+) session at Oriole Community Centre.

Line dancing is a fun way to stay active, learn new moves, and connect with others in the community. And the good news is, there are more opportunities to join us!

💚 Powering connections to healthy aging.

Last week, community members came together for our Vaccination & Healthy Aging: Staying Healthy as We Age session and lunch.

The session provided an opportunity to learn more about the role of vaccination as we age, access practical health information and resources, ask questions, and connect with others.
