Our first No Wrong Door Community Hub session for Cantley/Bessacarr will take place on Tuesday 7th July at Cantley Community Centre from 12.30pm-2.30pm.

We'll be keeping this first session nice and relaxed, with tea, coffee, biscuits and plenty of time to get to know local residents and hear what support, activities and opportunities would benefit the community most.

We are looking for anyone who is/knows a tree surgeon who could donate some stumps for us to use as seating. We are looking for around 12 stumps so we can create out central seating and fire pit area. Something like the photo below.

1-hour free parking trial begins across city centre council car parks🚗

Visitors to the city centre will be able to park for free for one hour in nearly all council car parks from this week, as the roll-out of a 1-hour free parking trial begins across the city centre.

This is a trial initiative and will run until the end of March 2027 and will see visitors not charged for their first hour of parking in selected council-owned car parks only.

Users will still need to place a ticket on their vehicle or use the RingGo App and select the 1-hour preference.

The initial roll-out, which begins from this week, will include the following council car parks:
🚗Wood Street Car Park
🚗Irish Club Car Park (College Road)
🚗Markets Car Park
🚗St Georges Car Park
🚗Marshgate Car Parks
🚗Church Way Car Park
🚗Chamber Road Car Park

Chappell Drive East and West will be included in the roll-out at a later date.

Get Doncaster Moving have teamed up with a number of local partners to launch a series of Keeping Active Guides created to help people across Doncaster find simple, enjoyable ways to move more in everyday life.

Whether it’s walking with friends, gardening, dancing in your kitchen or joining a local group, being active looks different for everyone. These guides are packed with tips, local opportunities, real stories, and ideas tailored to each Doncaster locality (South, North, East and Central). The guides offer:

✅ Simple tips and advice on moving more
✅ Ideas for being active at home, in the community or at work
